    As an Executive General Adjuster working remotely from California (with some travel), you’ll tackle dynamic challenges and engage in problem-solving on a global scale.

    PRIMARY PURPOSE: To investigate and assess losses or claims on an international scale for National Accounts, maintaining a minimum of five (5) national or international accounts with a total projected revenue of at least $500,000, ensuring comprehensive evaluations against various insurance companies regarding personal, casualty, or property loss.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Independently manage complex local losses up to your authority level and assist with larger claims, including those related to accounting issues (business interruption and stock).

    • Review claim documents and records to assess insurance coverage accurately.

    • Engage with claimants and witnesses through interviews, phones, or written correspondence regarding claims.

    • Consult police and hospital records, alongside examining property damage, to determine the extent of liability and implement appropriate investigative methods based on the type of insurance.

    • Estimate costs for repairs, replacements, or compensation as necessary.

    • Compile reports detailing findings and negotiate settlements with claimants.

    • Advocate for legal action through the legal department when settlements cannot be reached amicably.

    • Participate in litigation hearings as required.

    • Update case reserves in assigned claims files to reflect probable costs accurately.

    • Generate loss experience reports to evaluate profitability and assist in determining future rates.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

    • Contribute to the organization’s quality initiatives.

    • Travel as needed for role responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education & Licensing:

    A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Candidates must have obtained the IIA-AIC designation and be actively pursuing an additional professional insurance credential. An appropriate state adjuster license is required.

    Experience:

    A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience is required.

    Skills & Knowledge:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively.

    • Proficient in using PCs, particularly Microsoft Office products.

    • Exceptional customer service skills.

    • High attention to detail and precision.

    • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

    • Ability to meet or exceed defined performance competencies.

    In compliance with legal requirements, Sedgwick offers a reasonable compensation range for positions that may be advertised in jurisdictions necessitating pay transparency. Actual salaries depend on various factors, including skill set, experience, and specific location considerations. For this position, the expected salary range is $155,000 – $200,000 USD annually. This role is commission-eligible and comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k plan with matching, paid time off, disability and life insurance, employee assistance programs, flexible spending or health savings accounts, and many additional optional benefits.
