    PRIMARY PURPOSE: To investigate international claims of varying complexities against insurance and other entities for personal, casualty, or property loss and damages, aiming to achieve out-of-court settlements with claimants.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage complex claims independently up to designated authority, assisting with larger claims as needed, including accounting-based cases (e.g., business interruption and stock).

    • Review claim submissions and documentation to assess insurance coverage.

    • Conduct interviews through calls and written correspondence with claimants and witnesses regarding claims.

    • Consult various records, including police and hospital documents, and inspect property damage to ascertain the extent of the company’s liability, adjusting investigative methods based on insurance types.

    • Estimate repair, replacement, or compensation costs.

    • Draft comprehensive reports detailing findings and negotiate settlements with claimants.

    • Advise the legal department to pursue litigation when settlements cannot be reached.

    • Participate in litigation hearings.

    • Adjust case reserves within assigned claims to reflect probable costs.

    • Compile loss experience reports to aid in evaluating profitability and forecasting future rates.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Support the organization’s quality initiatives.

    • Travel as necessary.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education & Licensing: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred. The IIA-AIC designation is required, and candidates should also be actively pursuing additional professional insurance designations. An appropriate state adjuster license is essential.

    Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.

    Skills & Knowledge:

    • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, including effective presentation skills.

    • Proficient in PC usage, with a strong command of Microsoft Office software.

    • Outstanding customer service proficiency.

    • High attention to detail and thorough accuracy.

    • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.

    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

    • Capability to meet or surpass performance competencies.

    • Ability to push or pull weights of up to 100 pounds.

    • Ability to drive for up to four hours each day.

    • Must possess ongoing manual dexterity.

    Auditory/Visual: Required hearing, vision, and verbal communication abilities.

    As mandated by law, Sedgwick provides a competitive compensation range for roles covered by jurisdictions that necessitate pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by numerous factors, including skills, experience levels, and specific location costs. For the position detailed in this job posting, the estimated salary range is $200,000.00 to $250,000.00 USD annually. This role is also eligible for commission. A comprehensive benefits package is available, covering medical, dental, vision, 401k with matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance programs, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and a variety of additional voluntary benefits.
