What We Need from You
As an Electrical Inspector, you will be tasked with conducting field evaluations on energized electrical products at various job sites. Your role is critical in ensuring compliance with relevant standards and codes, producing reports, and maintaining communication with clients. A willingness to travel at least 75% of the time is essential.
Location: Candidates based in the Bay Area, CA are highly preferred.
Compensation & Perks
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $43.25 to $50, with individual compensation tailored to your unique skill set, experience, and qualifications.

Your Responsibilities
- Execute tests and measurements on products as dictated by applicable standards.
- Assess product compliance based on established criteria.
- Document ambient conditions at inspection sites.
- Affix labels to compliant products.
- Record corrective actions, including photographic documentation of non-compliances.
- Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings with clients and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Maintain confidentiality regarding client information.
- Undertake additional tasks as needed.

Essential Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field or a similar combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Understanding of basic electrical safety protocols.
- Ability to interpret and apply industry standards.
- Strong analytical skills to independently address problems, gather data, and derive conclusions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, ranging from 0 to over 40 hours per week.
- Physical Requirements:
- Capability to lift/carry at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb heights of at least 30 feet.
- Willingness to engage in 75% travel, including air and overnight trips.
- A valid driver’s license and a reliable driving record are mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- Over 5 years of experience working as a City Inspector or in an AHJ role.
- Membership with the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) is a plus.
