We are on the lookout for a talented Mid-Level Accountant with a background in government contracting to enhance our dynamic team. The perfect candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting or finance, experience with the Unanet system, and exceptional skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. A clear understanding of back-office operations related to frontline consulting and a keen interest in learning about pricing strategies will set you apart as a key contributor in our mission to elevate BluePath to greater heights.

In this vital role on the Accounting team, you’ll be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that ensure financial accuracy and operational excellence. You’ll handle crucial functions such as invoice processing, month-end close activities, adjustment vouchers, credit notes, rate adjustments, and custom client processes. Applicants must be U.S. citizens due to the sensitive nature of our work.

Key Responsibilities:
– Execute monthly accounting transactions in compliance with corporate guidelines, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to contractual obligations.
– Enhance back-office project management office processes for optimal efficiency.
– Produce monthly reports that highlight important trends and variances for operational leaders and executive management.
– Process and audit adjustment vouchers, credit notes, and rate changes with precision.
– Reconcile Accounts Payable transactions, guaranteeing alignment with established policies.
– Maintain and implement customer-specific invoicing and payment processes.
– Address and resolve contractual issues linked to Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable transactions.
– Manage, enter, and track all project-related expenses efficiently.
– Conduct monthly credit card reconciliations and collaborate with Points of Contact to resolve aged invoices.
– Generate and disseminate bi-weekly reports outlining invoices and project assignments.
– Review and execute weekly tasks effectively.
– Partner with project/program managers to ensure that project financials and resource allocations are accurately maintained and promptly address issues with key stakeholders.
– Participate actively as a member of the corporate Project Management Office (PMO).

Minimum Requirements:
– Must be a U.S. citizen.
– Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
– A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience within a consulting firm.
– At least 1 year of experience with the Unanet accounting system.
– Solid understanding of labor mix, utilization, pricing, profitability, forecasting, and controls.
– Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
– Strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
– A passion for contributing to an entrepreneurial small business.
– Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
– Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Familiarity with the Unanet accounting system.
– Prior experience in a Project Management Office is beneficial.
– Interest in learning and applying pricing strategies.
– Capacity to obtain a security clearance.
