We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Flood Modeller to become a vital part of our client’s innovative remote team based in the UK. Responsibilities:
- Prepare clear, concise, and technically accurate Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) in alignment with NPF4 policies, ensuring compliance with SEPA and Local Authority mandates
- Simplify complex modelling outcomes into accessible insights to aid clients in achieving their goals in planning and flood alleviation
- Collaborate effectively within a distributed team and manage time and resources proficiently
- Show enthusiasm for personal and professional growth within the company and the broader industry
- Conduct hydrological analyses for model inputs utilizing methods such as WINFAP/ReFH or alternatives
- Create hydraulic models based on survey data, and assess the suitability of third-party models
Qualifications for Success:
- Significant experience with several recognized UK flood modelling tools, such as Flood Modeller, ESTRY, and TuFLOW
- Proven background in developing hydrological assessments using WINFAP, ReFH2, and FEH statistical techniques
- Familiarity with 1D and 2D modelling methods and their application across diverse studies
- Ability to articulate your decision-making process, adapt to complex modelling scenarios, and deliver technically sound information to a variety of stakeholders
- Experience working with SEPA and Local Authorities is essential, alongside a robust understanding of creating detailed Flood Risk Assessments that comply with NPF4 (Policies 10 and 22)
- Educational qualifications should include at least a degree in Geography, Environmental Management, or Engineering, coupled with a solid technical foundation and a minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience in the UK
