The Full Stack Developer Role:

As a Full Stack Developer, you will collaborate closely with our Lead Developer and play a key role within our leadership team. Your insights will be instrumental in shaping architectural choices and guiding product development, as you engage with the wider team and our directors.

You will help cultivate a robust development culture and methodology, drive the implementation of scalable features, and ensure thorough documentation. Your input and recommendations will significantly contribute to the platform’s evolution.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance our LAMP-stack web application utilizing PHP, Laravel, React, and MySQL
• Review and refactor existing codebases to improve performance and maintainability
• Design and implement RESTful APIs
• Establish and uphold development methodologies to ensure timely project delivery
• Create unit and integration tests using PHPUnit and Jest.js
• Collaborate in cross-functional planning and design sessions
• Adhere to best practices for security and data protection
• Engage in regular team meetings and performance reviews
• Maintain clear documentation for all code and architectural decisions

Who You Are:

Essential Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in PHP development
• Proficient in PHP 7+ with substantial experience in Laravel or similar frameworks
• Strong grasp of OOP principles and design patterns
• Expertise in MySQL, including database design and optimization for large datasets
• Experience with asynchronous processing and queuing systems
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (with a preference for React and jQuery)
• Familiar with Git version control
• Background in test-driven development using PHPUnit and Jest
• Skilled in integrating third-party services and working with REST APIs
• Experience with AWS and distributed system architecture

Bonus Skills:

• Familiarity with refactoring and modernizing legacy systems
• Exposure to Docker
• Experience designing responsive and mobile-first interfaces
