    Job Description

    As a GCE Economics (New Specification) Examiner, you will play a crucial role in evaluating candidates’ responses according to established mark schemes, ensuring compliance with recognized examination procedures. Your marking will primarily be conducted onscreen via ePEN from the comfort of your home, although some subjects may still require traditional paper marking. A robust understanding of the subject matter is essential to effectively apply the mark scheme. Each examiner will be assigned a specific number of scripts to assess.

    We are also seeking individuals for the position of Examiner – GCE A Level Economics B (2016 Specification).

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Accurately and consistently mark candidates’ work to uphold high standards
    • Submit samples to your Team Leader at the specified intervals
    • Adhere to deadlines and milestones throughout the marking process
    • Complete all required administrative tasks as outlined

    Qualifications and Experience Required:

    • A minimum of one academic year’s teaching experience within the last 8 years, specifically related to the relevant qualification and subject
    • A degree or an equivalent qualification
    • Certification as a qualified teacher

    Alternatively, we welcome candidates with lecturer experience:

    • A degree or equivalent qualification
    • At least one full year of undergraduate-level teaching experience within the past 3 years

    Required Competencies:

    • Strong ability to work effectively under pressure
    • Capability to meet strict deadlines consistently
    • Extensive subject knowledge to accurately apply the marking criteria

    Additional Details:

    • The marking period runs from May to July.
    • Training for examiners will occur between May and June.
