Join a prestigious government agency in a thrilling long-term remote role! Our client is on the lookout for contract attorneys who are barred and in good standing in any state, equipped with a minimum of 1+ years of litigation experience.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and spearhead complex cases that involve significant legal precedents, intricate determinations of law and fact, or critical legal, policy, or financial implications.
- Assess the advisability of presenting witnesses and the admissibility of evidence, while developing robust legal strategies.
- Negotiate settlements for special education claims, ensuring fair and equitable outcomes.
- Prepare and articulate arguments for challenging cases and appeals in various administrative tribunals.
- Review, refine, and endorse agreements crafted by fellow attorneys.
- Evaluate the strengths of impartial hearing cases and analyze plaintiffs’ demands for appropriateness.
- Guide pertinent offices on their responsibilities towards parents and students concerning impartial hearing orders.
- Analyze internal settlement recommendations to enhance decision-making processes.
- Gather necessary evidence and support research on relevant issues.
- Participate in pre-hearing conferences and review administrative decisions as part of the process.
- Conduct in-depth research on state and federal case law and its impact on settlement negotiations.
- Collaborate with public advocacy groups, parents, and private attorneys to achieve mutually beneficial settlements.
- Review, modify, and sanction stipulations of settlements.
- Evaluate and negotiate claims for attorney’s fees to ensure equitable compensation.
- Prepare preliminary reports, statistical analyses, and strategic recommendations related to cases.
- Scrutinize and endorse requests for pendency, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
What You Need to Succeed
- Must be barred in any state and maintain good standing.
- Demonstrated experience in litigation and settlement negotiations.
- Strong legal research capabilities to support case strategies.
Compensation Details
With 1 to 7 years of experience (barred and in good standing), enjoy a remote rate of $41.75/hour.
For those with 7+ years of experience (barred and in good standing), the remote rate is $43.75/hour.
