Role Overview
As an Associate in Loss Mitigation, you will play a crucial role in managing a portfolio of delinquent accounts that are 80+ days past due, guiding them through the charge-off process. Your responsibilities will include investigating, monitoring, and resolving these accounts while adhering strictly to our internal policies and procedures. This position requires strong collaboration across divisions to ensure a seamless experience for both customers and dealers, and you will support other departments as needed to meet our shared business objectives.
Your Responsibilities
1. Oversee a queue of delinquent accounts that are 80+ days past due, efficiently managing inbound and outbound communications while ensuring all account activities are meticulously documented in line with department expectations.
2. Engage in coaching and development initiatives to collaboratively devise strategies that enhance both individual and departmental performance.
3. Execute additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach in your role.
What You Bring to the Table
– 1-2 years of experience in collections or a related field (automotive experience is a plus)
– Familiarity with late-stage collections is advantageous
– High school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred
– Strong self-management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and achieve goals independently
– Exceptional negotiation skills to create win-win solutions with customers
– Proficiency in utilizing skip tracing tools where applicable
– Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Windows, Word, and Excel
– Excellent verbal communication skills, enabling clear expression of thoughts and ideas
– Active listening skills to effectively comprehend instructions and feedback
Work Environment Details
This role involves lengthy periods of sitting, standing, and walking, with visual monitoring responsibilities and moderate noise levels. Work will primarily take place in an office setting.
The salary range for this position considers various factors, including skill sets, experience, location, and organizational needs. Successful candidates can expect to be compensated within this range based on qualifications, and it is uncommon for new hires to begin at the top of the range.
