Key Responsibilities of the Medical Credentialing Specialist:
- Facilitate the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for healthcare providers, including physicians, healthcare delivery organizations, and pharmacies.
- Oversee the maintenance and updates of the credentialing database to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate and support credentialing committee activities to enhance operational efficiency.
- Process, track, and securely file credentialing applications according to established standards.
- Address and respond to inquiries from both internal teams and external stakeholders regarding credentialing status and processes.
- Execute data entry tasks while prioritizing and managing practitioner files, performing outreach via email and phone.
- Adhere to all company policies and standards to uphold compliance.
- Engage actively in team meetings and collaborate using chat, instant messaging, and email platforms.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned to support overall team objectives.
Qualifications for Ideal Candidates:
- 1-2+ years of experience in medical credentialing is highly preferred.
- Education: A High School diploma or GED is a basic requirement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong data entry skills.
- Excellent customer service abilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with CAQH or other credentialing systems is a plus.
- Soft skills: Effective communication, robust time management, and problem-solving capabilities are essential.
- Note: This role is entirely remote and specifically open to candidates residing in Texas.
