    The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) position is a dynamic, field-based role aimed at fostering and nurturing scientific and clinical collaborations with medical professionals, researchers, and members of the scientific community within the fields of Sleep Medicine and Neuroscience. Sr. MSLs will oversee and guide group and individual projects while building strong relationships with experts to align with our therapeutic focus. Collaborating closely with the National Director, MSLs, Associate Director, MSLs, and Regional Medical Directors, you will leverage your scientific knowledge to engage effectively and ensure compliant communication about disease states relevant to Jazz Pharmaceuticals.

    Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

    • Engage in field-based scientific exchanges about FDA-approved products and those in the pipeline.
    • Contribute to the objectives of the Medical Science Liaison team, supporting FDA-approved products.
    • Identify, establish, and sustain scientific relationships with key opinion leaders regarding disease and product-related information.
    • Advance the scientific development of new compounds at research institutions and cultivate Jazz’s presence in designated therapeutic areas.
    • Assist the clinical operations team as needed with Jazz Pharmaceuticals-sponsored research initiatives.
    • Act as the main point of contact for investigators interested in conducting investigator-initiated research.
    • Work collaboratively across functions including Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Clinical Development.
    • Document and report adverse events as per Jazz’s policies to ensure the safe and effective use of our products.
    • Participate in and provide scientific support during Medical Affairs activities at regional and national conferences.
    • Develop and prioritize effective solutions, understanding how actions impact results while appreciating customer needs.
    • Proactively mentor and coach peers within the team.
    • Successfully lead at least two major cross-functional projects, demonstrating collaboration and leadership while managing geographic responsibilities.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Expertise in effectively conveying scientific data to various stakeholders, including opinion leaders and managed care organizations.
    • Familiarity with the geographical landscape and key opinion leaders is preferred.
    • In-depth knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations pertaining to field-based scientific roles.
    • Proven capacity to cultivate trust and relationships with opinion leaders in targeted disease areas.
    • Team-oriented approach; ability to collaborate and network with both internal and external stakeholders including commercial partners, R&D, medical opinion leaders, and academic institutions.
    • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
    • Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the time.

    Required/Preferred Education and Licenses:

    • An advanced degree in a relevant field (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent) is required.
    • At least 3 years of experience in an MSL role or a comparable position is mandatory.
    • Preference for candidates with experience in Sleep Medicine; similar backgrounds in Neurology, Psychiatry, or relevant areas will also be considered.

    Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. prioritizes fair and competitive compensation practices, offering total compensation packages that reflect market standards. The full salary range for this role is $176,000.00 – $264,000.00. Actual compensation within this range will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and job knowledge. Our objective is to ensure competitive compensation that aligns with each candidate’s expertise and contributions while considering internal equity.

    Your base salary is just a part of your total compensation. The successful candidate may also receive annual cash bonuses or incentive compensation that aligns with the Company’s Global Cash Bonus Plan, as well as potential equity grants through Jazz’s Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
