    Job Overview

    As an NDT Specialist, you will play a crucial role in performing and leading high-stakes inspections of gas and steam turbine generators using both manual and cutting-edge NDT inspection technologies. Your expertise will be applied at fossil fuel and nuclear power plants across the globe, where your findings will directly impact the quality of your work and that of your team. This position requires you to follow established work routines while allowing you the flexibility to adapt the order of tasks based on dynamic work conditions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee all on-site service activities including life extensions, repairs, and inspections at customer locations. This encompasses onsite machining, non-destructive testing, blading, winding, critical welding, and generator diagnostics.

    • Enhance your technical knowledge and skills aligned with company policies and strategies. This may involve supporting specialized technical areas as you continue to develop your expertise.

    • Understand essential business drivers and utilize this knowledge to effectively execute your responsibilities. Recognize how your team’s efforts integrate with other teams and contribute to overarching goals.

    • Exercise some autonomy in decision-making within predefined guidelines, addressing issues that require solid technical judgment while consulting senior colleagues for guidance on complex matters.

    • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, potentially leading a junior team, while fostering robust customer relationships. Serve as a key liaison between clients and GE, articulating technical details with clarity.

    • Support various activities such as proposal preparation, equipment maintenance, updates to process instructions, development of new testing techniques, interpreting customer specifications, field training, and initiating productivity enhancements.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED accompanied by a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

    • Active or recent Level II or III certification in NDT methods: Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), and Penetrant Testing (PT).

    • Eligibility for certification to ASNT TC-1A standards in the aforementioned testing methods.

    • Valid driver’s license is a must.

    • Ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.

    • Willingness to travel freely to and from the United States and perform work without restrictions.

    • Proficient in written and spoken English communication.

    • Availability to travel globally on short notice, possibly up to 80% of the time, including weekends and holidays.

    Preferred Attributes

    • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.

    • Proven track record in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs effectively.

    • Capable of operating independently with minimal supervision.

    • Experience with digital data acquisition systems and NDT analysis software.

    • Background in the power generation sector focused on nondestructive testing.

    • Experience within a client-facing service environment.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

    About Our Company

    For U.S.-based applicants, to comply with transparency laws, the base salary range for this role is $72,400 – $108,600 USD annually. Compensation offers will consider various factors such as experience and education. Additionally, this role is eligible for a Variable Incentive (VIC PW) Bonus of 5%. Certain locations may offer a geographic salary differential of 110%, 120%, or 130%.
