    Summary / Role Purpose

    As a Technical Account Manager (TAM), you will be the driving force behind our customer relationships, diligently understanding their unique objectives, technical challenges, and infrastructure needs to provide an exceptional experience. Collaborating closely with the Enterprise Account Manager (EAM), you will identify opportunities to enhance Ansys’ presence within client accounts while coordinating essential technical activities that support growth targets. Your role encompasses the strategic positioning of Ansys products and the collaborative efforts with presales, technical support, consulting, training, and our development and marketing teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Forge enduring and productive relationships with assigned accounts by aligning Ansys’ solutions with their strategic initiatives, becoming their primary point of contact for all technical matters.
    • Work synergistically with the EAM to pinpoint critical long-term and short-term technical initiatives globally to meet overall sales objectives, coordinating resources from Technical, Training, and Consulting teams as necessary.
    • Serve as a principal technical resource for select accounts, adeptly mapping customer requirements to Ansys solutions across industry verticals.
    • Collaborate with the EAM to utilize appropriate technical resources that assist in expanding Ansys’ market presence, identifying competitive displacement opportunities, and scaling globally.
    • Monitor technical support activities, partnering with local support managers to ensure follow-up and coaching, thus meeting quality standards.
    • Maintain a strong connection with Ansys Development for efficient responses to defect and enhancement requests.
    • Drive account-based marketing strategies to promote technology adoption and deployment.
    • Engage in field-factory collaborations for Ansys product enhancements and positioning against competitors.
    • Lead the qualification of opportunities and orchestrate technical campaigns for complex projects, advising on market sizing efforts.
    • Strategically lead account-based marketing initiatives to encourage technology deployment and foster adoption, including partner solutions.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Educational Background: BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
    • Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years for BS, 6 years for MS, or 3 years for PhD in an engineering software context.
    • Proficiency in Ansys software or other comparable CAE, CAD, EDA, or PLM applications.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Ansys products and their applications within specific customer segments, with the ability to effectively communicate all technical engagement aspects across diverse physics and product lines.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, fluent in English, both written and spoken.
    • Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities, with a strong sense of urgency.
    • Professional demeanor and business insight coupled with a motivation for success.
    • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.
    • Proven ability to collaborate and coordinate with personnel across multiple global locations.

    Preferred Attributes

    • Advanced educational background with 7+ years of experience in an engineering software environment.
    • 4+ years of expertise in application engineering, customer support, or consulting roles involving engineering software.
    • Adept at engaging with senior business leaders and C-level executives.
    • Flexibility to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.
    • Experience within the Aerospace and Defense sectors.
    • Understanding of the gas turbine design process.
