    Your Responsibilities

    In our talk therapy service, you’ll provide up to 10-20 sessions of therapy for a prominent insurance provider’s members who are referred to our Neurodevelopmental Service. Many of these clients have diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD, or Specific Learning Disabilities (SpLD).

    As our team of skilled talk therapy practitioners continues to grow, we seek therapists who are well-versed in supporting neurodiversity and learning differences, especially those with additional training focused on working with children, young people, and families. Clients will be channeled from internal assessments to the therapy pathway due to co-existing mental health issues.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Possess in-depth knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions, including ADHD, Autism, SpLD (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia), Dyspraxia, and others.
    • Have experience in delivering tailored therapy for neurodevelopmental conditions.
    • Understand the effects of adverse childhood experiences and psychological trauma on mental health.
    • Be well-versed in a variety of therapeutic interventions aimed at alleviating mental health symptoms like distress, impulsivity, anxiety, and self-neglect.
    • Plan and execute mental health care delivery effectively.
    • Conduct risk assessments and contribute to comprehensive risk management plans.
    • Apply safeguarding principles in practice.
    • Uphold the importance of patient confidentiality.
    • Ensure robust clinical governance by adhering to organizational policies and clinical guidelines.
    • Collaborate effectively as part of a team while also taking direction and leading when necessary.
    • Manage workloads efficiently, prioritizing tasks while recognizing professional boundaries.
    • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with company policies.
    • Exhibit exceptional communication and interpersonal skills while delivering high-quality care.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Awareness of psychological and psychiatric care models.
    • Familiarity with research and evidence-based practices relevant to your therapeutic modality.
    • Experience in clinical governance and supervising team members.
    • Background working within neurodevelopmental services.

    What We Require

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Completion of training as a talking therapist at the Post Graduate Diploma level or higher.
    • A minimum of two years of post-qualification supervised practice.
    • Full accreditation with a recognized professional body such as HCPC, BABCP, UKCP (Registered), or BACP (Accredited) psychotherapist with a Level 7 psychotherapy qualification.
    • Successful completion of a recognized Talk Therapy modality at the Postgraduate Diploma level or higher (Psychological Therapist/Psychotherapist or Clinical/Counseling Psychologist).
    • Extensive experience working with Neurodiverse populations, supported by specialized training.
    • Proven experience working according to NICE guidelines for various common mental health issues, including anxiety and depression.
    • At least two years of experience providing therapeutic interventions to children and young people, with post-qualification supervised clinical practice.
    • Strong clinical report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate documentation in line with professional standards.
    • Proficiency in remote/online working and a comfort level with digital platforms for secure therapy delivery.
    • Current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
    • An Enhanced DBS check will be required.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Training at the Post Graduate Diploma level or above in working with children, young people, and/or families.
    • Training in modalities such as CBT, CFT, IPT, DIT, CAT.
    • Training in core mental health professions (e.g., Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Practitioner Psychologist).
    • Training in ADHD Behavioral Coaching.

    Experience Requirements

    Essential:

    • Significant experience working with neurodiverse populations, with evidenced specialization.
    • Experience adhering to NICE guidelines for various mental health needs for both adults and children.
    • Hands-on experience providing care to patients with mental health concerns, particularly those with neurodevelopmental differences.
    • Experience managing cases involving potential risks to the patient or others.
    • Experience utilizing a biopsychosocial model and a recovery-oriented approach.
    • Experience functioning as an autonomous practitioner in community settings.

    Desirable:

    • Background working with children and young people facing mental health challenges.
    • Experience contributing to biopsychosocial interventions, including psychology interventions or occupational therapy groups.
