Position Overview

Your role involves providing and coordinating nursing care in a non-acute ambulatory, medical office, or urgent care environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care following established policies, protocols, and regulatory guidelines as per the Board of Nursing in the respective state.

• Offer personalized patient care grounded in an individualized care plan addressing physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychosocial, and educational needs.

• Leverage specialized knowledge and skills essential to ambulatory care nursing to promote wellness, facilitate recovery, and tackle health-related challenges.

• Evaluate patients’ needs and integrate current ambulatory care nursing knowledge and evidence-based practices to create tailored plans for each patient.

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to established nursing protocols.

• Manage and document patient care proficiently, including patient assessments, education, medication delivery, treatment, and patient safety.

• Delegate tasks to healthcare team members based on patient needs and the individual capabilities of team members.

• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety standards.

• Effectively communicate relevant information regarding patient conditions or concerns to other healthcare professionals.

• Educate patients and families on post-visit self-care tasks to ensure proper care post-appointment.

• Incorporate patient and family education throughout the care process to empower informed health-related decisions.

• Create a supportive and compassionate environment to enhance the care experience for patients and their families.

• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This role does not include management responsibilities and reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required; a BSN is preferred.

• Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

Alternative Qualifications

• In lieu of an Associate’s degree in Nursing, an RN diploma or certificate with a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or a license to practice as an RN in the applicable state will be accepted.

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Must possess a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or be licensed to practice as an RN in the state of employment.
