Be at the forefront of Akamai’s Connected Cloud transformation through Kubernetes

We are in search of a Senior Architect with a strong command of Kubernetes and Cloud Native technologies. You will take the lead in architecting and designing our innovative Cloud Services and new Managed Services offerings, ensuring they run on a state-of-the-art platform. Collaborating closely with other architects and engineering teams will be essential in this role.

As a Senior Architect, your key responsibilities will include:

• Owning the holistic system design and implementation, providing engineering teams with practical solutions, and resolving technical roadblocks

• Crafting proof of concepts to facilitate design choices and technology recommendations

• Collaborating with product managers and product architects to inform the strategic direction of our offerings

• Contributing to the engineering roadmap alongside product and engineering management and business stakeholders

• Establishing best practices, sharing insights, and mentoring fellow engineers

Thrive in a role that aligns with your passions

To excel in this position, you should possess:

• A solid background in designing and implementing highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable production services using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies

• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes concepts, including Operator/Controller patterns, Cluster API, and multi-cluster management

• A strong foundational understanding of Linux, networking, containers, and related technologies

• Extensive experience coding in languages such as Go, C++, or Python

• Experience with technologies such as OpenTelemetry, CSI, CNI, CI/CD tooling, Load Balancers, and Service Mesh frameworks
