Summary / Role Purpose
Become a pivotal member of the Ansys Customer Excellence team, specializing in Reliability Engineering solutions designed to elevate our customers’ success. As a Reliability Sales Specialist, you will spearhead the sales of reliability-centered engineering services, facilitating the integration of Ansys simulation and analytical tools into customer operations. Your expertise will be essential in guaranteeing that products are designed with durability, safety, and maximum efficiency in mind, helping our clients manage risk and improve product reliability. You’ll lead the development of opportunities by scoping, pricing, managing, and closing deals while collaborating effectively with customers, account management, and service delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition from proposal to project initiation.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive opportunities focused on reliability, ensuring customers leverage maximum value from Ansys Reliability Engineering solutions such as lifecycle predictions, failure analysis, fatigue assessments, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with Ansys Account Managers to proactively identify, qualify, and define potential Reliability Engineering service opportunities.
- Act as the primary liaison for legacy customers seeking improvements in their reliability and safety analysis workflows.
- Organize and lead scoping discussions with technical experts and potential customers, aligning on reliability objectives while ensuring a clear understanding of their technical and business needs.
- Manage the reliability engineering sales pipeline, utilizing Salesforce for tracking opportunities and providing insights during weekly management reviews regarding next steps, probabilities of closing, and closing strategies.
- Navigate negotiations involving nondisclosure and proprietary information agreements in collaboration with customers and legal teams.
- Develop, quote, and finalize service pricing, partnering with technical teams to outline failure mode analyses, probabilistic risk assessments, and compliance evaluations for safety.
- Ensure consistent follow-up with customers, maintaining alignment between engineering aspirations and project execution.
- Work collaboratively with project accounting teams to ensure timely processing of purchase orders and service bookings.
- Guide Reliability Engineering service opportunities from initial discovery through to successful close, fostering strong collaborations with customers and account teams.
- Clearly define project scope, objectives, requirements, and deliverables with a keen focus on principles of reliability engineering.
- Collaborate with marketing and account teams to devise and implement effective strategies for capturing business from new customers and sectors.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3 years with a Master’s degree in an engineering software or reliability engineering context.
- Demonstrated experience in services sales and adeptness at quickly grasping, articulating, and communicating vital value propositions.
- Proven ability to engage effectively with senior business leaders and engineering teams to align on reliability-focused project objectives.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities, including delivering technical presentations to customers.
- Solid business acumen complemented by a professional demeanor and results-oriented mindset.
- Experience in reliability prediction, safety analysis, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and fatigue/durability assessments is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Salesforce.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience for Bachelor’s holders, 6+ years for Master’s holders, or 3+ years for PhD holders in engineering software, reliability engineering, or product validation.
- More than 4 years of sales experience in engineering, reliability analysis, or safety compliance.
