Overview

In this position, you will engage in detailed case consultations and strategic planning, scrutinize legal documents, and create clear, written summaries. Your extensive knowledge will enable you to formulate personalized strategies for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals along with business owners. Exceptional expertise in estate and business planning, coupled with outstanding communication, persuasion, and organizational skills, is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate actively with a cross-functional team of attorneys, Certified Financial Planners (CFPs), Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and leading wealth management advisors to devise all-encompassing plans focusing on estate planning, wealth transfer, business succession, tax strategies, and executive compensation.
Evaluate clients’ financial situations to formulate strategic initiatives that guide their decision-making processes.
Identify and implement solutions that align with Northwestern Mutual’s integrated approach to investments and insurance products.
Deliver engaging presentations to advisors and clients, facilitating informed client choices.
Work alongside clients’ external legal and tax professionals to provide cohesive service.
Oversee workflow management to ensure compliance with service level agreements, guaranteeing timely and accurate delivery of all analyses and requests.
Establish and utilize relationships throughout the company to effectively address unique challenges faced by high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, ensuring a smooth delivery of planning presentations.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution; additional credentials such as CFP, CPA, or LL.M. preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in estate and business planning, ideally in a consulting environment working with clients and/or financial advisors.
Demonstrated experience directly advising high-net-worth clients in sophisticated estate and business planning contexts, as well as tax strategies.
In-depth understanding of tax optimization, estate and business succession, and wealth transfer methodologies.
Possess Series 6 or Series 7 licenses; must achieve within the first 6 months of employment.
Must hold a Home State Insurance License or obtain it within 6 months of hiring.
Excellent analytical skills with strong follow-up abilities and self-management of daily responsibilities, and a talent for teamwork.
Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities, particularly in simplifying complex subject matter for client comprehension and actionable guidance.
A proven track record of cultivating trusting partnerships with financial advisors and being an effective team contributor.
A willingness to mentor others is a beneficial trait.
Familiarity with planning software, such as MoneyGuidePro, eMoney Advisor, or WealthTec, is advantageous.

Compensation Details:
Salary Range – Starting:
$149,380.00
Salary Range – Ending:
$277,420.00
Location-Based Pay Structure:
