    PRIMARY PURPOSE: Your main responsibility will involve investigating various types of claims—regardless of size or complexity—for personal, casualty, or property losses on an international scale. You will strive to achieve out-of-court settlements with claimants.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Handle complex loss claims independently within your designated authority and assist with larger claims, including those involving accounting-related losses like business interruptions and inventory.
    • Review claim forms and corroborating documents to assess insurance coverage.
    • Engage with claimants and witnesses through interviews, phone calls, and correspondence to gather crucial information.
    • Investigate police reports and medical records; analyze property damage to assess the company’s liability and employ investigative methods appropriate to each insurance type.
    • Estimate costs for repairs, replacements, or compensations.
    • Compile comprehensive reports outlining your findings and negotiate settlements with claimants effectively.
    • Recommend litigation to the legal department when negotiations fall short.
    • Attend litigation hearings as necessary.
    • Update case reserves in assigned claims files to accurately reflect expected costs.
    • Prepare loss experience summaries to evaluate profitability and recommend appropriate future rates.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
    • Contribute to the organization’s quality initiatives.
    • Travel as needed for job requirements.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education & Licensing:

    A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred. You must possess the IIA-AIC designation and actively pursue additional professional insurance credentials. A valid state adjuster license is mandatory.

    Experience:

    A minimum of five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

    Skills & Knowledge:

    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
    • Proficiency in PC operations, especially Microsoft Office applications.
    • Exceptional customer service aptitude.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
    • Effective time management and organizational capabilities.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance competencies.

    Mental: The role requires clear thinking, good judgment, discretion, the ability to manage work-related stress, handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

    Physical:

    • Must have the stamina to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
    • Flexibility to kneel, squat, or bend as needed.
    • Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures.
    • Competence in climbing, crawling, stooping, and reaching above head.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Capability to push or pull loads of up to 100 pounds.
    • Comfortable driving for up to four hours per day.
    • Frequent use of manual dexterity is essential.

    Auditory/Visual: Good hearing, vision, and communication skills are required.
