    Job Overview

    Join the dynamic team at ERAC, Employers Reassurance Corporation, a corporate entity of GE Aerospace. As a leading reinsurance organization, we specialize in long-term care insurance, structured settlements, life insurance, and a variety of additional insurance products. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring adherence to technical accounting standards, implementing robust financial and operational internal controls, and driving process enhancements. Your efforts will contribute to delivering precise financial reporting and analysis in compliance with both Statutory and US GAAP principles. You’ll also spearhead initiatives for continuous improvement and stay abreast of industry advancements that can impact our operations.

    This position can be located in Overland Park, KS, or can be executed remotely within the U.S.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and oversee the preparation of quarterly Statutory Accounting Practices (SAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) financial statements, complete with comprehensive analyses, supplemental schedules, and disclosures, while facilitating internal review processes.

    • Coordinate the production of annual SAP statements and audited financial statements, ensuring detailed analysis, supplemental schedules, and disclosures are included, while managing internal reviews.

    • Execute the completion of periodic NAIC financial statement data and other essential regulatory filings.

    • Prepare and analyze ERAC’s legal entity Board reports.

    • Support both internal and external audit processes.

    • Initiate and promote simplification projects aimed at continually enhancing the controllership environment, particularly focused on financial reporting workflows.

    • Assist with various ERAC and regulatory projects, alongside strategic and operational initiatives.

    Essential Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

    • Proven experience in statutory accounting practices.

    • A minimum of 6 years in accounting or finance roles.

    • Experience within the insurance industry, particularly in finance.

    • Strong background in financial reporting.

    Preferred Attributes

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or comparable certification.

    • Experience in public accounting with a solid understanding of SAP and GAAP standards.

    • Familiarity with OSFI regulatory reporting and IFRS accounting is a plus.

    • Demonstrated leadership experience interacting with senior management.

    • Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively across all organizational levels while managing multiple priorities.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams.

    • Strong project management capabilities and coordination skills.

    • Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

    Compensation for this position ranges from $110,200 to $155,200, influenced by various factors like experience, education, and skill set. The role also offers eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary, along with commission opportunities per the defined plan.
