BMC invites applications from talented individuals for the role of Lead Assembler Developer to become a vital part of our exceptional IZOT team!
In this dynamic position, you will be tasked with the development of products and innovative solutions based on comprehensive design specifications. This role offers the chance to tackle a diverse range of critical, unique challenges and complex projects. You will be responsible for creating prototypes and employing various techniques to meet product definition and design objectives.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Expertly developing and delivering products, product lines, and solutions using Assembler and C.
- Designing, coding, and debugging complex multi-tier software solutions.
- Producing high-quality design options that showcase a deep breadth of technical expertise.
- Conducting thorough code and design reviews.
- Making impactful decisions on development strategies that maximize value.
- Assessing new technologies and processes, including third-party releases, that may influence our products and solutions.
- Collaborating directly with global clients to address intricate product challenges and escalations.
- Providing mentorship and technical direction to the development team.
- Utilizing the diverse skill sets within the team to integrate insights and create superior solutions.
Qualifications We Are Looking For:
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in z/OS Processing Environment.
- At least 7 years’ experience in IBM development, particularly extensive expertise in 64-bit and 31-bit Assembler programming languages.
- Expert coding skills in multitasking, reentrant, and sysplex environments.
- Ability to create functional designs and specifications derived from business needs.
- Experience within an IBM Mainframe environment (including TSO/ISPF, JCL, etc.).
- Comprehensive knowledge of z/OS structure and logic, encompassing insights into z/OS operating system internals.
- Skilled in developing operational code leveraging low-level operating system functions.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting complex applications and systems issues.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in C/C++ development.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP and associated networking protocols.
- Proficiency in data transformation, particularly with databases.
- Experience working with JSON and YAML would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of remote communication protocols using certificates is useful.

The annual base salary range reflects the lower and upper ends of BMC’s salary structure for this position. Actual salaries depend on numerous factors, including skills, experience, training, and organizational needs.
The stated range is one part of BMC’s comprehensive employee compensation package, which may include a variable plan and location-specific benefits.
In general, new hires are not typically placed at or near the top of the salary range. A reasonable estimate for this position is approximately £66,900 – £111,500.
