    As a Senior Director within the Optum Advisory Supply Chain team (Remote), you will be at the forefront of managing and expanding our Supply Chain business. Your role involves innovating our delivery approaches and methodologies while actively driving business development as a subject matter expert. Your influence will help generate interest and establish credibility within the broader Optum growth organization.

    In this strategic position, you will collaborate with fellow Senior Directors and Leadership to ensure that sales, business development, and operational readiness are closely aligned. Your key responsibilities will include driving business development efforts, assessing financial and operational opportunities, and facilitating due diligence processes for potential client partnerships. You will develop, manage, and finalize new partnership opportunities for Supply Chain consulting services within a designated provider territory while working with other Optum team members to secure client collaborations. Your initiatives will enhance Optum’s brand awareness and reputation in the commercial provider market and beyond, supporting our objectives for new client acquisition.

    Your role will also encompass overseeing the delivery of transformative projects aimed at optimizing supply chain operations for both long-term client partnerships and commercial clients. You will coordinate activities across onsite and remote teams in various program functions, including analytics, improvement initiatives, project management, change management, and performance sustainability, while ensuring alignment with client executives and clinical and operational leaders to achieve and maintain successful partnership outcomes.

    Your Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Manage a portfolio of provider organization accounts while creating and executing strategies to expand the Supply Chain business in your assigned territory.
    • Engage supply chain leaders at healthcare facilities to seamlessly integrate our advisory solutions.
    • Meet or surpass individual annual sales objectives, including new acquisitions, renewals, and contract expansions.
    • Collaboratively work with the Optum sales team on supply chain transformation endeavors involving proposals, service level agreements, and alignment on financial goals with clients.
    • Contribute to the creation of sales materials for client engagements, including proposals, pricing strategies, and return-on-investment analyses.
    • Assist in conducting comprehensive assessments and due diligence processes at potential client locations.
    • Establish timelines and project plans for assessment completion and due diligence.
    • Represent Optum at industry conferences to ignite new business opportunities and amplify brand recognition for our Supply Chain services.
    • Expand your professional network at the executive level.
    • Refine sales collateral and messaging to reflect relevant industry changes.
    • Build trusted relationships with client executives and ensure they view you as a collaborative partner in the design and implementation of transformation programs.
    • Supervise consulting staff and take accountability for client-managed teams.
    • Work closely with various business units across Optum involved in implementing the supply chain transformation initiative.
    • Lead consulting teams in diagnosing client challenges and determining optimal solutions to achieve best practice performance.
    • Deliver clear updates to senior leadership both at client sites and within Optum.
    • Effectively present to large audiences and adjust messaging as necessary for various executive roles (CEO, CMO, CFO, SVP Supply Chain, etc.).
    • Contribute as a team member in developing innovative client supply chain programs.
    • Provide insights for Optum’s supply chain vendor partnerships to enrich client offerings.
    • Help develop cutting-edge Supply Chain solutions that enhance client value and differentiate Optum in the marketplace.
    • Monitor progress towards key milestones for Optum clients, providing regular updates and escalating issues when needed.
    • Exhibit strong relationship management skills and effectively handle complex interpersonal dynamics.
    • Develop and implement industry-leading practices for both new and existing clients.
    • Provide expert knowledge to other Optum business units regarding Supply Chain products and services.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management within a hospital/clinical provider setting or in a consulting role, focusing on developing transformative methodologies and innovative solutions that result in financial savings.
    • 7+ years of leadership experience managing teams.
    • 7+ years of conducting contract reviews and negotiations.
    • 5+ years of demonstrable success in business development, generating annual sales of $2M – $4M+, showing business acumen to adapt to changing market needs.
    • 5+ years of substantial financial and budgeting experience.
    • 5+ years of successful leadership experience managing a team and interacting with a diverse client base.
    • Demonstrated project management capability, handling multiple projects and stakeholders efficiently.
    • Experience managing large-scale projects, including the simultaneous oversight of multiple engagements.
    • Willingness to travel up to 70% for client meetings and engagements as required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in hospital/healthcare operations or supply chain management, and/or leading complex clinical transformation consulting projects that yield significant financial benefits.
    • Demonstrated experience in developing supply chain transformation methodologies and innovative solutions within dynamic and complex environments.

    The salary for this position ranges from $150,200 to $288,500 annually, based on full-time employment. Compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
