    Your Role and Impact

    The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team serves as the backbone behind the seamless delivery and management of Ivanti’s SaaS offerings. We are on the lookout for passionate individuals eager to elevate SRE maturity through innovative internal tools, operational improvements, and optimized deployment pipelines. Adopting a comprehensive approach, Ivanti’s SRE focuses on operational procedures, incident response frameworks, application monitoring, and process automation.

    The SRE team merges infrastructure, networking, automation, development, and application administration in a hands-on, technical capacity. Candidates with a solid foundation in software engineering, experience in continuous deployment, SaaS delivery, and production incident response will be ideal for this role.

This team plays a critical role in developing Ivanti’s tailored platform for CIOs and CISOs, powered by Ivanti Neurons, featuring a cloud-scale hyperautomation layer that facilitates proactive healing and user-friendly security, all while enhancing the user experience.     Your Responsibilities

    • Research, develop, maintain, and automate both existing and new SRE tools and processes
    • Implement solutions to minimize toil within SRE
    • Engage in code reviews and analyses with SRE colleagues
    • Create and evaluate contributions to SRE documentation, including system documentation, technical manuals, and runbooks
    • Deploy, manage, and secure Ivanti’s production SaaS environments in AWS and Azure
    • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams spread across various locations to tackle complex challenges
    • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior SREs, fostering their development
    • Participate in on-call rotations for round-the-clock incident response and issue triage

    What You’ll Bring

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
    • A minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience (4+ years with an earned BSc in Computer Science or an equivalent degree)
    • Proven expertise in building applications and tools using Python and at least one of the following languages:
      • Java
      • Golang
      • C#
    • Experience working with Bash interactively and programmatically
    • Familiarity with PowerShell
    • Proficiency in utilizing public cloud platforms (preferably AWS or Azure)
    • Experience with core Linux distributions (Debian, RHEL, SUSE, Slackware)
    • Strong background in container orchestration (EKS or AKS preferred)
    • Excellent Operating System troubleshooting skills
    • Experience with scalable distributed computing systems troubleshooting and analysis
    • Hands-on experience with deployment pipeline tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and/or GitHub Actions
    • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or ARM
    • A robust understanding of DevOps practices
    • A commitment to embracing and implementing emerging technologies and best practices
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English to facilitate global collaboration

    An ideal candidate will possess:

    • Previous experience as a Site Reliability Engineer
    • Certifications in areas such as:
      • Cloud Development and architecture
      • Kubernetes Administration
      • Linux Administration
      • Software engineering disciplines
    • Experience with developing for Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, or other ‘serverless’ frameworks
    • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 Type 2, ISO-27001, FedRAMP, IRAP, ISMAP, etc.
    • Knowledge of privacy regulations like GDPR and PIPEDA

    Pathway to Success

    First 90 Days:

    • Complete onboarding and achieve familiarity with the SRE-managed product portfolio
    • Develop a foundational understanding of Ivanti SRE automation
    • Establish connections with the team and form relationships with SRE peer teams

    By 6 Months:

    • Achieve self-sufficiency in core job functions
    • Be an active participant in Incident Response rotations
    • Collaborate with the broader SRE team on automation enhancements
    • Identify automation gaps and begin planning and implementing solutions

    By 1 Year:

    • Become a trusted resource for SRE code and tooling review and development
    • Take ownership of critical SRE processes and tooling, including training and documentation
    • Contribute and lead training initiatives for team education and junior SRE mentorship
    • Establish best practices to improve code composition and minimize toil
