As priorities shift, you’ll be agile enough to pivot among various projects, working across all tiers of the application, including the front end, middle layer, and database layer, utilizing development frameworks and third-party libraries.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, document, test, and debug both new and existing software systems, applications, and components for commercial and proprietary use.

    • Lead strategic planning and execution of software development projects, defining project goals, deliverables, timelines, and budgets while adhering to software development methodologies.

    • Act as the technical specialist for development projects, engaging in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, and deployment.

    • Follow established Agile practices, supporting both immediate and long-term planning while demonstrating functional software.

    • Assess new technologies and platforms to evaluate their potential integration within our products.

    • Make informed design choices focusing on reusability, extensibility, maintainability, and minimal coupling.

    • Provide innovative solutions to challenges affecting timelines, scalability, and performance, particularly regarding production and implementation.

    • Serve as the go-to expert for the Software Development team.

    • Continuously keep up with industry developments, innovative technologies, and best practices to ensure our team remains ahead of the curve.

    • Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

    Leadership & Development

    • Offer strategic guidance, mentorship, and growth opportunities to a team of software developers.

    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that drives innovation and teamwork.

    • Conduct regular performance assessments, providing constructive feedback to enhance team skills and productivity.

    • Encourage professional development by facilitating training and advancement opportunities for team members.

    Qualifications Required

    • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • 12+ years of relevant industry experience with at least 2 years in a VP-level role or similar capacity.

    • 5+ years of experience as a hands-on leader managing distributed teams.

    • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and software development environments, with expertise in C#, .Net, .Net Core, Python, and JavaScript frameworks (Angular, VUE, React).

    • Experience with software development frameworks, API integrations, and both structured and unstructured databases.

    • Experience developing cloud-native applications or managing migrations to the cloud, preferably within AWS.

    • Knowledge of AWS technologies (API Gateway, Lambda, EKS, AWS Transfer Family), event-driven architecture, and Kubernetes.

    • Strong foundation in enterprise software architecture, including APIs, databases, DevOps, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, OpenTelemetry).

    • Experience with tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, or equivalents.

    • Familiarity with Agile Scrum and DevOps-oriented delivery methodologies.

    • A proactive mindset and decisiveness in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

    • Willingness to learn new programming languages, frameworks, or tools as business needs evolve.
