Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Mid-Level Technical Writer and contribute to the documentation of innovative cloud-based and desktop software solutions. This fully remote position offers a competitive day rate of £300 – £400 (inside IR35) for a duration of 2 months, with an immediate start available.
We are seeking a talented freelance Technical Writer with a robust background in technical communication and a collaborative spirit. If you possess hands-on experience with cloud technologies and .NET desktop application development, this role is for you! You will play a key role in clearly documenting technical processes, partnering closely with developers, and managing content within Confluence in an Agile/SCRUM setting.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop, refine, and uphold user guides, technical manuals, API documentation, and an internal knowledge base.
- Engage with engineering, product, and QA teams to gather insights and transform intricate technical information into clear, concise documentation.
- Utilize Confluence effectively to organize and disseminate knowledge across the team.
- Support the enhancement of documentation processes aligned with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
- Craft documentation with a solid grasp of cloud computing fundamentals and user interactions with .NET desktop applications and cloud-based systems.
- Ensure version control for documentation across various product releases.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in technical writing, particularly within a software development environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Confluence for documentation and collaborative efforts.
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Familiarity with .NET desktop application development and contemporary cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience working effectively in an Agile/SCRUM framework.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Adept at working independently and managing several documentation projects simultaneously.
Compensation will be determined based on your experience and specific client needs.
