    In this role, you’ll be instrumental in propelling growth within our Employer business sector. We’re seeking a candidate with a deep understanding of healthcare and financial services coupled with a proven sales acumen. A thorough comprehension of the competitive landscape, strong navigation of the consultant and broker communities, and a drive for success are essential. You will take ownership of a designated territory and collaborate with sales partners within that market.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Establish, cultivate, and enhance relationships with consultants and brokers in your assigned territory
    • Promote Health Benefit Accounts to employers via designated distribution channels
    • Build and maintain consultative relationships with key Employer clients, ensuring alignment with their strategies and business needs while continuously evaluating the value offered by Optum Financial solutions
    • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to create strategies that amplify our value proposition and reinforce UnitedHealth Group’s overall impact on clients’ businesses
    • Articulate and present a compelling value narrative that aligns with client strategies, engaging executives, decision-makers, and key influencers, whether virtually or in-person
    • Serve as a trusted executive partner to external customers, influencing stakeholders at the VP and C-Suite levels

    You will be recognized and rewarded for your contributions in a challenging environment that provides clear guidance on achieving success and offers avenues for progression into other roles.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Over 5 years of experience in sales development or business development, engaging with decision-makers and economic buyers
    • At least 5 years of sales and marketing experience with a strong record of increasing business portfolios or client bases in the health insurance or financial services arena
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) for over 5 years
    • Extensive experience with Consumer-Directed Health (CDH) programs, including HSA, HRA, FSA; wellness initiatives; COBRA; and investments
    • Willingness to travel frequently—estimated at 50%

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience collaborating across UnitedHealth Group, Optum, and/or UnitedHealthcare business lines
    • A successful history of meeting or exceeding sales objectives and driving revenue growth
    • Proven ability to develop and strengthen relationships with internal C-suite executives and matrix stakeholders
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
    • Open to candidates residing in Illinois or Michigan (primary states within the designated market)

    The salary for this position ranges between $75,000 and $160,000 annually for full-time employment, with additional incentives based on sales performance. Compensation is influenced by various factors, including local labor market conditions, education, work experience, certifications, and more. UnitedHealth Group adheres to all applicable wage laws. In addition to your salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, an equity stock purchase plan, and a 401k contribution, subject to eligibility.
