    As a remote Advisory Manager specializing in Strategy & Growth, you will take charge of moderate complexity projects, leading the overall approach and structure of analyses for engagements and key deliverables. This crucial role demands a deep industry expertise, positioning you as the key driver of team problem-solving efforts aimed at helping clients recognize strategic priorities, enhance financial and market prosperity, rationalize services, and navigate the complexities presented by health care reform. You will skillfully assign workstreams to team members and yourself, aligning them with both skill development needs and client timelines while maintaining a focus on project economics and profitability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the project lead for moderate-complexity engagements or higher-complexity workstreams.
    • Diagnose client-identified issues and their underlying challenges, formulating optimal strategic solutions.
    • Achieve consensus among critical client stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
    • Devise the overall analytical approach and structure for the engagement, including critical deliverables.
    • Mentor team members in developing their own approaches, and review their work to ensure precision and effectiveness.
    • Act as the primary contact for the daily management of client projects.
    • Establish effective communication routines with clients while showcasing executive presence during on-site presentations.
    • Distribute workstreams based on team members’ skills and developmental needs while adhering to client requirements and timings.
    • Focus closely on project economics and guide the team to adhere to practices that assure quality and profitability.
    • Monitor team utilization against expectations to ensure optimal performance.
    • Utilize both deductive and inductive reasoning effectively and efficiently.
    • Provide subject matter expertise to other Optum Advisory Services units regarding strategic planning.
    • Support other Optum Advisory Services divisions that require strategic expertise in relation to client issues.
    • Communicate clearly and accurately, both in writing and verbally, with prospects, clients, and team members.
    • Exhibit strong relationship management skills and navigate challenging interpersonal dynamics adeptly.
    • Contribute to business development and thought leadership initiatives alongside primary project commitments.

    Required Qualifications:

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience interacting with external clients/customers within a consulting environment (Big 4 / Big 6 / Boutique).
    • Expertise of at least 3 years using formal industry strategy consulting frameworks.
    • A minimum of 3 years in the healthcare sector, including experience with payers and/or providers, or in life sciences.
    • Familiarity with various strategy consulting frameworks and problem-solving methodologies.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite—Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
    • Willingness to travel domestically up to 50% as necessary.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with payers and/or providers within the healthcare system.
    • Skills in mentoring junior staff members.
    • Experience in managing projects that successfully meet budgetary and timeline requirements.
    • A background in healthcare consulting.
    • Demonstrated analytical reasoning and solution-oriented problem-solving capabilities.
    • Proven skills in leading and inspiring cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
    • Proficient at identifying root causes of issues and employing creative problem-solving methods.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

    The salary for this role ranges from $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Compensation is influenced by various factors, including local labor markets, educational background, work experience, certifications, and more. UnitedHealth Group adheres to all applicable minimum wage laws.
