With a robust presence in the UK and expanding operations across mainland Europe, our client is on an exciting trajectory of growth and innovation. They are seeking a talented Tax Projects Manager to enhance their senior finance team for an initial period of six months. This position offers flexibility for hybrid or fully remote work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the initiation, management, and completion of critical global projects related to tax, treasury, and corporate structuring.
- Function independently, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller based in Basingstoke, UK, while collaborating with advisors across the UK, France, and Spain for necessary support and consultation.
- Collaborate with external consultants to design and rollout a comprehensive Group Transfer Pricing program, including preparing Master and Local Files, Debt Benchmarking, Legal Documentation, and enhancing accounting/reporting processes.
- Engage with advisors and local teams to oversee tax audits and investigations, managing communications with tax authorities in various jurisdictions.
- Partner with legal, accounting, and tax professionals to streamline the corporate structure globally, handling mergers, transfers, liquidations, and entity strikes where applicable.
- Assess the Group’s Debt structure, factoring in tax implications and cash flow requirements, and develop a robust process for regular cash repatriation for debt servicing and group projects.
- Oversee the preparation of FY24 tax returns and lay the groundwork for FY25, including planning for PoA cash needs and statutory accounting & auditing.
- Evaluate the overall tax environment for the Group, preparing for potential exit strategies by addressing key risk areas and creating essential documentation such as Share Schemes, VAT, Debt structures, Transfer Pricing, and supporting tax asset documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements accordingly.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a professional accounting or tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CTA) with extensive experience managing tax projects. You will possess a strong advisory background, allowing you to collaborate effectively with external advisors, challenge findings as necessary, and have expertise in transfer pricing to aid in the development of Master and Local files and related processes.
What We Offer
The compensation for this role is competitive, with a pro-rata salary of up to £120,000 for the six-month duration, with the potential for extension. Day rate options are available outside of IR35 regulations.
