Summary / Role Purpose

As an R&D Engineer II, you will play a pivotal role in crafting the next generation of simulation software, focusing on integrating AI technologies to enhance usability, performance, and accessibility. This position necessitates close collaboration with a dynamic team of experts to transform customer insights into groundbreaking, AI-enhanced features that redefine physics-based simulation. We are seeking someone who is passionate about the fusion of AI and engineering and is eager to participate in making simulation tools accessible to all.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and refine prototypes for AI-enhanced features while assisting in their evolution into production-ready solutions.
• Keep abreast of the latest advancements in AI and simulation technologies, contributing fresh ideas to elevate product functionality.
• Engage in the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of software modules, focusing on integrating AI capabilities into simulation workflows.
• Work collaboratively with senior engineers and domain specialists to translate technical requirements into functional software components.
• Operate under the general guidance of a development manager.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in a related discipline.
• Proven experience in technical software development through academic, research, or industry initiatives.
• Familiarity with contemporary software development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong foundation in AI/ML fields, such as deep learning, large language models, computer vision, or generative AI.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Understanding of physics-based simulation tools (e.g., LS-DYNA, Ansys), CAD modeling, or CFD.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, particularly in distributed working environments.
• Aptitude to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous settings and contribute meaningfully to evolving innovative ideas into impactful features.
• Bonus: Experience in real-time simulation, optimization workflows, or generative design.
