We are excited to announce a fresh opportunity within Ameresco’s Operations & Maintenance Group for a Solar Electrician based in the Raleigh, NC region, specializing in Solar Operations and Maintenance for commercial solar installations.

The compensation for this role ranges from $42 to $50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify safety hazards and adhere to safety protocols to protect yourself, your coworkers, and the public.

• Skillfully read and interpret instruction manuals, blueprints, and control system diagrams, applying your knowledge to daily tasks under the guidance of the Lead Electrician.

• Maintain comprehensive records—both written and electronic—such as work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, and material requests to document ongoing work and project completion.

• Engage in the repair, testing, troubleshooting, inspection, installation, removal, and maintenance of solar site equipment, including solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA systems.

• Oversee and train apprentice electricians and coworkers on the effective and safe use of tools and maintenance practices.

• Perform additional duties as necessary to support operations.

Essential Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is essential.

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in industrial solar electric or electronic maintenance, with skills in the repair, inspection, testing, installation, and/or upkeep of relevant electrical or electronic equipment.

• Valid and clean Driver’s License from your state of residence.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid grasp of electrical principles, voltage, and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.

• Familiarity with Solar PV systems is advantageous.

• Ability to successfully fulfill training and testing prerequisites for the position.

• Capable of physical tasks including pushing, pulling, bending, standing, stooping, lifting, carrying, reaching, climbing, hearing, and seeing, as well as working at heights for extended periods.

• OSHA training and certification are preferred.

• Willingness to travel and maintain flexibility for on-call responsibilities or a varied work schedule.
