    Position Overview

    In the role of Medical Science Liaison (MSL), reporting to the Director of Medical Affairs, you will be a pivotal scientific resource, driving communication and collaboration with healthcare professionals, thought leaders, and key stakeholders regarding Medexus’ product portfolio. Your expertise will enable you to foster and sustain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), payors, and advocacy groups while providing high-level medical and scientific support. By gathering vital market insights and influencing medical strategy, you will work across departments to elevate our research initiatives, education projects, and market access efforts. This dynamic position demands exceptional therapeutic knowledge, strategic insight, and superior communication skills to promote scientific engagement and further Medexus’ strategic goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the leading subject matter expert within Medexus Medical Affairs.
    • Identify, cultivate, and strengthen ongoing relationships with key national and regional medical thought leaders, including academic centers, managed care organizations, hospitals, and community practices to foster advocacy and facilitate scientific dialogue.
    • Create and oversee engagement plans for medical thought leaders and centers of excellence.
    • Guide the submission of investigator-initiated trials and collaborative research inquiries, ensuring adherence to company policies in regards to publication and presentation of clinical data.
    • Contribute to the development of Medical Affairs documents that align with corporate goals, including presentations, standard response letters, and training resources.
    • Assist in orchestrating medical education programs, encompassing speaker events, scientific symposia, and community meetings aimed at healthcare professionals.
    • Provide scientific and medical contributions to the Market Access team, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
    • Contribute expertise to the design and execution of promotional and educational initiatives.
    • Represent Medexus at key professional society meetings and medical/scientific conferences, facilitating thought leader engagement and supporting the planning and execution of congress activities.
    • Maintain regular communication with management and project teams about emerging standards of care, therapeutic advancements, and clinician needs in the community.
    • Act as a field medical resource, addressing medical inquiries promptly and accurately while adhering to all applicable laws and ethical standards.
    • Principal MSLs will additionally undertake leadership duties, including mentoring and providing strategic advice to fellow MSLs, driving team development and sharing best practices to enhance the Medical Affairs function.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, MSN) with direct clinical practice experience in oncology or related fields required.
    • MSL: Minimum 3 years’ experience; Senior MSL: Minimum 5 years; Principal MSL: Minimum 8 years’ experience, including 2 years in a mentorship or coaching capacity.
    • Experience in a small biotech or pharmaceutical setting is preferred.
    • Prior background in Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) is advantageous.
    • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
    • Effective in creating and delivering impactful scientific presentations for diverse audiences.
    • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
    • Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration at all levels.

    Additional Information

    Travel: Up to 50% of the time.

    Location: This is a remote position. We are currently looking to fill three positions in the following regions: Great Lakes/Ohio Valley, Northern California/Pacific Northwest, or Lower Mid Atlantic/Carolinas.

    Compensation Range: $170,000 – $230,000 per year.
