Role Overview:
The Interpreter plays a vital role in facilitating communication between individuals who speak different languages. Your primary responsibility will be to convey the essence and meaning of spoken language, ensuring effective two-way communication.

- Provide accurate, confidential, and impartial interpretations

- Demonstrate outstanding communication, linguistic, and organizational skills
- Be punctual, dependable, confident, enthusiastic, and professional
- Maintain impartiality and exhibit courtesy toward clients and service beneficiaries
- Possess a profound understanding of the cultures associated with both languages
- Exhibit professional demeanor throughout all interpreting assignments
Desired Qualifications, Experience, and Memberships:
- A minimum of 2 years’ interpreting experience
- Community Interpreting Level 3 Certificate
- Diploma in Police Interpreting (DPI) or completion of the Metropolitan Police Test
- Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
- Other relevant interpreting or translation qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Languages, Translation, Interpretation, Philology, Linguistics, or related fields
- Ph.D. or Doctorate in Languages, Philology, Linguistics, or similar areas
- Certificate of Higher Education in Translation, Languages, or related disciplines
- Membership in the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI)
- Qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL)
- Membership in the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) or similar professional bodies
- Proficiency in English language (with evidence if applicable)

- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
- A valid DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)
- Two references
