Your Role
Join our Product Engineering team, where you will be part of the dynamic Aggregate Team. This team is foundational to our product, responsible for designing and maintaining our data pipeline and ETL processes that set Tenzo apart. With more than 70 integrations and growing, we continually enhance our capabilities, managing considerable data volumes that power our web and mobile applications.
As a crucial part of our strategy, the Aggregate Team drives innovation and improves the functionality, scalability, and connectivity of both our new and existing integrations, ensuring seamless experiences for our esteemed customers and partners.

This position is an exciting opportunity for a junior professional eager to grow and make a substantial impact at Tenzo. You will gain insight into how our products communicate with external systems, partners, and platforms.

Your Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of data pipelines, mastering key tasks such as data ingestion, extraction, transformation, and automation.
- Work under guidance on various data challenges, delivering quick wins while nurturing an understanding of long-term value.
- Assist with building robust, scalable, and efficient integrations using industry-standard protocols and APIs.
- Support the optimization and troubleshooting of data workflows to ensure their efficiency and reliability.
- Help implement and enhance data quality and validation checks to maintain data integrity.
- Engage in identifying and resolving data mismatch issues, verifying and validating data sources for consistency and accuracy.
- Contribute to the development of our data warehouse solution on Snowflake under supervision.
- Collaborate closely with the product manager and stakeholders to understand and document data requirements.
- Expand your knowledge about data storage optimization, infrastructure performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Learn and apply best practices in data and cloud engineering.
- Participate actively in a high-performing team, including ticket creation, refinement, and planning sessions.
Your Profile
- A strong curiosity and desire to understand data engineering concepts and practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of thriving in cross-functional teams.
- A proactive attitude, ready to ask questions and propose ideas while taking ownership of your work with appropriate guidance.
- A basic familiarity with SQL databases and a keen interest in analytical data warehouses and data orchestration tools.
- A willingness to engage with technical documentation and planning.
- Some exposure to agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
What We’re Looking For
- Basic proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation (essential).
- Fundamental knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL (highly desirable).
- A willingness to learn about data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow (nice to have).
- Basic proficiency in Git (important).
- An eagerness to write high-quality code, technical documentation, and production plans (important).
- A fundamental understanding of data challenges and a willingness to learn strategies to address issues like data quality, privacy, and security (important).
- A practical approach to learning data engineering, interested in balancing near-term solutions with future-proof strategies (important).
- An interest in data management best practices, including frameworks for testing, monitoring, and alerting related to data pipelines (important).
- Some exposure to cloud platforms, especially AWS, or a strong interest in learning (nice to have).
- Entry-level to 2 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related field.
