Job Description
Join our dynamic Claims Team at MAPFRE and make an impact with your expertise! This role offers an opportunity to manage a portfolio of Automobile Casualty claims, focusing on moderate severity Bodily Injury and Un/Under Insured Motorist incidents. Your role will involve a deep understanding of both Personal and Commercial Auto policies and may require you to navigate multi-jurisdictional claims.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret policies to ensure accurate guidance and application throughout the claims process.
- Handle every aspect of claims adjustments, including screening new losses for coverage exposure, conducting thorough liability investigations, assessing claim values, negotiating settlements, and issuing timely and accurate payments when warranted.
- Manage litigation and/or arbitration processes related to claims effectively.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for frequent interactions with medical professionals, clients, and legal representatives, ensuring timely and professional exchanges.
- A strong customer service ethic, able to empathize with claimants and customers alike.
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; excellent organizational skills and a high degree of confidentiality are essential.
- Capability to deliver various types of communications, including persuasive and negotiation skills.
- Experience participating in the training of fellow claims staff, contributing to team growth.
- A minimum of two years of claims adjusting experience is necessary for this position.
- Insurance industry education is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work effectively, ensuring productivity goals are met while managing a pending of claims.
- Proficiency in basic CRT/PC skills and accurate keyboarding abilities.
- Strong mathematics competency with the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Completion of the Casualty Claims training program is mandatory.
Qualifications You Should Have:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional knowledge in a specialized field, or relevant experience.
- Experience: 2 to 4 years in claims adjusting, or an Associate’s Degree plus 4 to 6 years of related experience.
