About the Opportunity:
CrowdStrike is on the lookout for a talented Senior Engineer to join our innovative Data Services team. In this role, you will elevate our database systems and work with cutting-edge data plane technologies such as Cassandra, ElasticSearch, and Kafka. We seek a technically proficient, hands-on engineer who thrives on building automation for extensive cloud-based, mission-critical systems. Your Responsibilities:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of our data architecture, including Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, to manage and automate well-configured clusters effectively.

• Create and enhance infrastructure services to facilitate the CrowdStrike engineering team’s transition to a complete DevOps model.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Customer Support teams to resolve urgent production issues swiftly and efficiently, no matter when they arise.

• Ensure the integrity, security, and availability of petabytes of essential business data.

Essential Qualifications:

• Proficient in configuration management tools (Chef or Salt) and/or possess strong Ruby programming skills.

• Hands-on experience with large-scale data management using technologies like Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, and MySQL.

• Solid background in managing large-scale, mission-critical Linux environments.

• Experience operating in cloud environments, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with both local and remote teams.

• A proven track record of making crucial decisions, especially under pressure.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Confidence and autonomy, coupled with the wisdom to seek assistance when needed.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
