    Your Role:

    BD’s Software Technology Solutions Division (STS) is seeking a dynamic Sr. Engineering Manager who will focus on building and sustaining a Clinical Interface Engine.

    This role is ideal for a proactive leader with a unique blend of intelligence, integrity, and technical expertise, allowing you to cultivate a high-performing team through mentorship, coaching, recruitment, and tackling complex technical challenges.

    In this collaborative position, you will work closely with various teams, providing guidance on the creation and management of clinical data.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise the design, development, and upkeep of a scalable, high-performance health data interface engine.
    • Develop comprehensive technical design documentation, considering system dependencies, potential failure scenarios, maintainability, testability, and support ease.
    • Collaborate with Architecture, PM, DevOps, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of the team’s strategic roadmap with the overarching program vision.
    • Establish and implement performance metrics to enhance the functionality and efficiency of high-volume HL7 v2 interfaces.
    • Incorporate best practices in software engineering (such as version control and continuous integration) across the entire codebase.
    • Coordinate with program management to set key delivery milestones and address engineering risks that could impact the program.
    • Facilitate decision-making regarding work scope, task duration, and design requirements.
    • Attract, nurture, and retain talent within the BD team.
    • Foster a collaborative environment to ensure a shared understanding of intricate subjects.
    • Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives within the entire department.

    Qualifications:

    • Over 10 years of experience in the Health Technology sector, with a successful record in developing and maintaining scalable, high-volume data interfaces, including at least 3 years in a Cloud environment.
    • Minimum of 5 years leading teams and managing direct reports.
    • Expertise with leading HL7 interface engines such as Iguana and Intersystem.
    • Familiarity with design and development experiences surrounding HL7 FHIR, HL7 CDA, and HL7 v2.
    • Hands-on experience with AWS and serverless technologies.
    • Proven ability to lead transformations in modern software development practices and continuous delivery.
    • Experience in designing systems with observability for monitoring and addressing anomalies, failures, and performance degradation.
    • Strong understanding of cloud architecture and design principles.
    • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a successful track record in motivating and developing high-achieving teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of translating complex issues into actionable strategies.
    • Proficient in programming languages such as Golang, Python, and Java.
    • Experience with Agile methodologies and implementing DevOps practices.
    • A demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to meeting project objectives.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    Salary Range:

    $155,200.00 – $256,000.00 USD Annually
