This role presents an exceptional opportunity to spearhead the development of advanced analytics and observability solutions within the Optum Insight Innovation portfolio. By harnessing the power of generative AI, you will be instrumental in transforming prior authorization processes, creating more efficient workflows, and minimizing delays. Your responsibilities will include managing auditing, logging, and dashboarding functionalities to optimize AI application performance and reliability. Collaboration with engineering teams and stakeholders will be crucial as you design scalable monitoring systems for generative AI and large language model (LLM) technologies, promoting innovation and strategic integration across departments.
This position allows for remote work flexibility from anywhere within the U.S. as you tackle exciting challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that analytics and observability strategies align with business goals.
- Craft product requirements and user stories for auditing, logging, and dashboarding solutions, establishing clear acceptance criteria.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive roadmaps to enhance AI observability and monitoring capabilities, utilizing Azure Databricks and related tools.
- Work alongside engineering teams to create scalable solutions for LLM observability, telemetry, and analytics.
- Convert technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, highlighting challenges and opportunities.
- Identify risks, resolve conflicts, and ensure team alignment. Use data-driven decision-making to optimize product performance and prioritize resources efficiently.
- Set and track KPIs to gauge the success of observability and analytics solutions.
- Drive the continuous improvement of post-launch products, ensuring responsiveness to emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of product management experience, with a focus on new product development.
- A minimum of 3 years working on analytics or observability capabilities for products in the external market.
- At least 1 year of practical experience with AI observability tools and related paradigms, including LLM monitoring.
- Proficiency in Azure Databricks and associated data-intensive ecosystems.
- Strong technical acumen to design solutions that resolve complex data and monitoring challenges.
- Proven success in agile development settings and collaborative work with engineering teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated capability to navigate ambiguity and make decisive, data-informed decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in the healthcare sector.
- Experience with telemetry, monitoring, and logging systems for AI-heavy applications.
- Familiarity with emerging AI technologies.

The salary for this role ranges from $106,800 to $194,200 per year, based on full-time employment. Compensation is determined by various factors including local labor markets, education, experience, certifications, and more. UnitedHealth Group adheres to all applicable minimum wage laws. In addition to a competitive salary, UnitedHealth Group offers a robust benefits package, recognition programs, stock purchase options, and 401(k) contributions (all benefits subject to eligibility).
