Your Role and Responsibilities
Our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is the powerhouse behind the delivery and management of Ivanti’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings. We are dedicated to ensuring the reliability, deployment, and operation of the Ivanti Cloud product suite. We are looking for passionate individuals to advance SRE maturity through the development of internal tooling, enhancements in operational processes, and streamlined deployment pipelines. Ivanti’s SRE adopts a comprehensive approach to operational protocols, incident response, application and infrastructure monitoring, and process automation.
The ideal candidate for this role will blend expertise in infrastructure, networking, automation, development, and application administration, as this is a hands-on technical position. A background in software engineering along with robust experience in continuous deployment, SaaS delivery, and incident response in production environments is essential.

Team Overview
The Ivanti Engineering team plays a crucial role in translating market challenges into innovative solutions that resonate with our customers and drive business goals. By integrating market insights, strategic planning, and cross-departmental collaboration, the Engineering organization ensures every product release aligns with evolving user needs and competitive landscapes. This team is vital in developing Ivanti’s purpose-built platform for CIOs and CISOs powered by Ivanti Neurons—a cloud-scale, hyperautomation layer that enables proactive healing and user-friendly security, significantly enhancing user experience. Through continuous innovation and customer-focused solutions, this department is pivotal in shaping the company’s growth trajectory.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Researching, maintaining, and improving SRE tools and automation processes
- Contributing innovative solutions to minimize operational toil within the SRE domain
- Engaging in code reviews and analytical discussions with fellow SRE team members
- Creating and assessing contributions to essential SRE documentation, including system guides and runbooks
- Deploying, managing, and securing Ivanti’s production SaaS environments on AWS and Azure
- Collaborating with geographically diverse teams across departments to address complex challenges
- Participating in on-call rotations for 24/7 incident response and resolution (adopting a follow-the-sun model)
To Thrive in This Role, You Will Need:
- A BSc in Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience (2+ years with a BSc in Computer Science or an equivalent degree)
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with one of the following languages:
- Java
- Golang
- C#
- Strong command of Bash for both interactive and script-based tasks
- Experience with major public cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure
- Hands-on experience with core Linux distributions (e.g., Debian, RHEL, SUSE, Slackware)
- Understanding container orchestration technologies (EKS or AKS is a plus)
- Experience with deployment pipeline tools like Ansible, Jenkins, and/or GitHub Actions
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- A keen interest in adopting and implementing innovative technologies and best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to facilitate global collaboration
Additional (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Site Reliability Engineer
- Certifications related to:
- Cloud Development and Architecture
- Kubernetes Administration
- Linux Administration
- Software Engineering Disciplines
- Experience with serverless frameworks such as Azure Functions or AWS Lambda
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 Type 2, ISO-27001, FedRAMP, or IRAP, and privacy laws like GDPR and PIPEDA
Pathway to Success
First 90 Days:
- Complete onboarding and role-specific training
- Develop a foundational understanding of the SRE-managed product portfolio
- Gain insights into where Ivanti SRE implements automation
- Build relationships with team members and SRE peers
First 6 Months:
- Achieve self-sufficiency in core job functions and existing processes
- Participate in on-call Incident Response rotations
- Identify repetitive tasks and propose automation opportunities through collaborative efforts with senior SREs
- Engage actively in the SRE Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for small to medium automation projects
First Year:
- Contribute independently to SRE codebases and documentation
- Demonstrate ownership in incident management, including triage and resolution
- Lead specific projects under the mentorship of Senior SRE team members
- Identify improvement opportunities for performance and reliability within production systems
