    Job Description

    Join our dynamic team as a Business Development Manager, where you’ll spearhead the growth of Spark Power’s renewable services across national markets. This hands-on role places a strong emphasis on building relationships through face-to-face interactions with both current clients and potential new customers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Drive sales success by achieving or surpassing annual segment sales targets through proactive customer acquisition and retention efforts.
    • Identify and cultivate strategic customer accounts, developing comprehensive annual sales plans tailored to their specific needs.
    • Communicate effectively about Spark Power’s range of renewable services, including Operations and Maintenance, repowering, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) services, and substation offerings.
    • Secure project opportunities by engaging in networking, cold calling, and responding to inbound requests for proposals and information.
    • Provide leadership in negotiations and closings of significant project deals, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless process.
    • Negotiate contract terms, conditions, and pricing to create agreements that align with both company and customer objectives.
    • Work in partnership with internal teams—such as operations, legal, and finance—to facilitate smooth execution of services.
    • Maintain up-to-date records within the Netsuite CRM system, managing customer relations and tracking outreach efforts throughout the sales funnel.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop strategies that enhance new business growth.
    • Support marketing and operations in organizing and executing tradeshows and customer workshops to showcase our services.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative, regulatory, and Health & Safety standards.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service orientation.
    • Proven critical thinking abilities to methodically assess challenges and devise effective solutions.
    • Exceptional time management skills, allowing you to prioritize tasks and manage workloads effectively.
    • Strong problem-solving capabilities to identify root causes and implement plans to address issues efficiently.
    • Detail-oriented approach to align operational services with customer requirements while considering company risk tolerance.

    Desired Experience:

    • Experience in renewable energy services or related construction fields is highly preferred.
    • A high school diploma is required; additional education or certifications are advantageous.
    • Self-motivated with a flair for engaging with clients and colleagues in professional and social settings.
    • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Willingness to travel up to 25% for client meetings and industry events.
    • Comprehensive understanding of contract negotiation and its legal implications.
    • Familiarity with the renewable energy services sales process is essential.

    Physical Environment:

    • Primarily based in an office environment, with opportunities for travel to meet clients and visit project sites.
    • Expect some repetitive tasks related to computer work and a significant amount of sitting.
    • Site visits may expose you to various outdoor conditions, including temperature extremes and uneven terrain while requiring the use of PPE for safety.
