In light of our robust global expansion and strategic investment from Vista Equity Partners, we are seeking a dynamic and collaborative VP of Finance, ideally possessing SaaS-specific financial expertise, to spearhead all financial operations at Gatekeeper. This pivotal role covers a broad spectrum of responsibilities from accounting and departmental budgets to banking operations, cash flow management, and risk oversight.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role as a member of the Executive Team, overseeing the company’s financial operations. Partnering closely with leadership, you will craft the organization’s financial strategy and align our potential business directions with strategic objectives. Your contribution will help propel business growth through the establishment of scalable systems, adoption of innovative technologies (including Generative AI), and the recruitment of top-tier talent to support Gatekeeper’s expansion.
This is a 100% remote position available exclusively to applicants based in the UK.
In this role, you will:
Lead the Financial Vision – Develop and guide Gatekeeper’s financial strategy, prioritizing long-term planning, investment choices, and capital structure optimization to bolster growth and sustainability.
Manage financial accounts by introducing and maintaining robust accounting processes and frameworks.
Conduct financial analysis and present key findings to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, and investors to inform growth strategies and resource allocations.
Supervise the daily operations of financial tasks performed by your team, encompassing:
Reconciliation
Renewal management
Revenue collection
Payroll activities
Revenue recognition processes
Debt collections & aged receivables
Cash flow oversight
Budget preparation & forecasting
Oversee relationships with outsourced accounting service providers, assuring quality and scope of services.
Collaborate directly with investors for compliance with financial reporting standards.
Build an in-house finance team that scales with the business, leveraging AI tools and software to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Ensure the integrity of financial reporting data.
Lead financial audits and risk management initiatives.
Act as a key partner in strategic discussions, facilitating long-term growth and operational success in collaboration with the management team.
Implement industry-leading financial practices harnessing advanced technology for greater efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Provide insightful, data-driven recommendations for both short-term and long-term growth strategies.
Establish and monitor crucial financial KPIs aligned with Gatekeeper’s overarching goals.
Stay well-versed in evolving SaaS financial metrics and market trends to inform Gatekeeper’s financial strategies.
Requirements
A seasoned financial leader in the software industry with a minimum of 3 years of experience in scaling SaaS organizations.
Experience in a Private Equity context, including engagement with board-level activities.
Proven track record as a senior leader within a successful finance team.
Comprehensive understanding of SaaS financial metrics and principles.
Experience in scaling SaaS companies from $10m in ARR to beyond $30m.
Knowledge of multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional financial considerations.
Hands-on management style with accountability for key processes.
A collaborative team player with a passion for continuous learning.
Proactive in identifying solutions, fostering innovation, and driving change.
Adept at problem-solving complex financial challenges.
Highly analytical with a strong attention to detail.
