    We are excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a committed and empathetic Psychiatrist to become part of our groundbreaking REMOTE Adult ADHD Assessment Service. This innovative initiative is designed to tackle the increasing demand for ADHD assessments, alleviating NHS waiting lists and ensuring that adults receive timely and effective support.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Evaluate and diagnose ADHD, taking into account coexisting conditions and risk factors.
    • Monitor treatment efficacy and manage potential side effects.
    • Prescribe and adjust medications as appropriate within your scope of practice.
    • Provide post-diagnostic guidance, psychoeducation, and ongoing support.
    • Conduct physical assessments related to medication management.
    • Build therapeutic rapport with service users and their families.
    • Accurately document clinical details using electronic systems.
    • Advise on additional assessments or interventions when necessary.
    • Craft management plans and actively involve service users in their care strategies.
    • Respond effectively to urgent situations while managing associated risks.

    Job Duties

    We are on the lookout for Psychiatrists, both at Consultant and Specialty Grade levels, to join our pioneering ADHD service.

    Essential Duties:

    • Conduct thorough assessments and reassessments of adults with suspected ADHD.
    • Perform medication follow-ups and offer pharmacological treatments.
    • Design and implement non-medical treatment strategies for adult ADHD.
    • Participate in service enhancement and collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
    • Keep precise clinical records and maintain a standard of high-quality care.

    Qualifications

    • Registered with the GMC as a Doctor, holding relevant qualifications (e.g., MBChB/MBChC/MBBS).
    • A minimum of six months’ experience in the field of psychiatry.
    • Demonstrated supervisory skills and experience in multi-professional and multi-agency collaborations.

    Person Specification

    • GMC registered Doctor with appropriate qualifications (e.g., MBChB/MBChC/MBBS).
    • Minimum six months of experience in psychiatry is essential.
    • Experience in supervisory roles and multi-agency teamwork.
    • Experience with adult ADHD is highly desirable.

    Compliance Requirements

    This role falls under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, necessitating a Disclosure submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for any prior convictions.
