POSITION OVERVIEW
As a vital member of the credentialing team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the application process for initial and re-credentialing is conducted smoothly and on schedule. By assisting applicants in submitting all necessary documentation, you will facilitate the credentialing journey for Trinity Health’s RHMs (Regional Health Ministries). Your responsibilities will encompass a range of credentialing tasks as directed by CVO management, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and maintaining a precise physician database.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with your Manager to identify and schedule candidates for reappointment.
Conduct thorough file audits and provide constructive feedback on initial and reappointment credentialing files.
Support the onboarding and training of new team members, ensuring a cohesive workflow.
Engage in daily data entry to maintain a comprehensive and accurate physician database.
Assist in the smooth integration of new RHMs into the Credentialing Verification Organization (CVO) through data entry and conversion tasks.
Communicate consistently with applicants and RHMs to fulfill credentialing requirements within established timeframes.
Reach out to primary sources to obtain necessary verifications, utilizing telephone, fax, mail, and internet channels to expedite application completion.
Prepare detailed documentation of all verifications, including a summary of verified references for each completed credentialing file.
Facilitate the reappointment process by collecting, verifying, and following up on required information for reappointment applications.
Meet established processing time thresholds consistently and with minimal error.
Assist with the initial drafting of RHM privilege forms within the PCCB module of the credentialing database.
Uphold confidentiality regarding information related to patients, physicians, and employees.
Cultivate a customer-focused attitude, nurturing good relationships and addressing conflicts constructively. Identify problems, propose solutions, and participate in their resolution. Maintain records of errors and complaints to support process improvements.
Engage in professional development activities to enhance your understanding of healthcare regulations and legislation.
Assume full accountability for performing job duties in the safest manner to ensure personal safety and that of coworkers, while promptly reporting any hazards or unsafe practices to management.
Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Director.
Maintain familiarity with relevant Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Integrity and Compliance Program, and other relevant policies to ensure honest, ethical, and professional conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of post-high school education, training, or experience is required, with an Associate degree in health administration or a related field preferred.
A minimum of one year of working experience in a healthcare setting, alongside a general understanding of the healthcare industry, including hospital environments, physician practices, and managed care organizations.
Familiarity with NCQA and TJC standards, NPDB guidelines, and general licensing regulations is essential.
Proficiency in database management, report generation, PC use, and Windows-based word processing software is required.
Current eligibility for CPCS and/or CPMSM from the National Association of Medical Staff Services is preferred but not mandatory.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, with an emphasis on active listening and considering diverse viewpoints. Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving abilities are crucial. Demonstrated commitment to quality service, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, is required. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting while adhering to Trinity Health policies is expected.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to prioritize and adapt to frequently changing tasks is essential. Must manage multiple ongoing projects in a potentially high-stress environment with individuals exhibiting diverse personalities and work styles.
Competence in performing duties during high-pressure situations while maintaining a flexible and positive demeanor.
Hourly Pay Range: $20.68 – $31.02
