Qualifications:
You should bring to the table at least 1 year of experience in practice accountancy. While AAT qualification or part-qualified status in ACCA/ACA is preferred, it is not a strict requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements and corporation tax returns (CT600)
- Handle self-assessment tax returns (SA100)
- Manage VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital (MTD) regulations
- Complete CIS returns
- Conduct day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain financial records
- Address client inquiries and provide expert guidance
- Coordinate with HMRC as necessary
Candidate Profile:
- Demonstrated experience in a practice environment (mandatory)
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK tax laws (VAT, CIS, SA, CT)
- Skilled in using cloud accounting software, including Xero, Dext, and Apron
- AAT qualified or part-qualified in ACCA/ACA (preferred, though not required)
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Adept at working independently while managing multiple client accounts
