Description:
**Key Responsibilities:**

2. Oversee specialized Human Resource service delivery at the HR Service Center, leveraging expertise in vendor management, employment status changes, health and welfare plan administration, absence management, and other HR areas. Serve as a backup for various specialty functions as needed.
3. Focus on the administration of absence management, including the processing of paid time off (PTO) payouts, reconciliation, transfers, bank management, and zero outs.
4. Utilizing advanced skills in MS Excel, manage the production of Enterprise Interface Builders in Workday to efficiently handle PTO/Zero Outs and benefits refunds/deductions.
5. Analyze large volumes of data reports to manage transactions in Workday related to pay and benefits.
6. Conduct root cause analyses to effectively address and resolve daily inquiries.
7. Act as a crucial liaison among Centers of Excellence (COEs), Technology Information Services (TIS), Legal, local HR partners, and Payroll.
8. Handle complex, escalated issues and adjudicate appeals within the parameters of IRS Section 125 and Trinity Health HR policies. Collaborate with Total Rewards Benefits and the Legal Department to minimize risk.
9. Independently audit vendor files and reporting on eligible participants and dependents, while reconciling discrepancies across various processes such as eligibility reports and employment status changes.
10. Develop sustainable and efficient processes in line with guaranteed service level agreements to support the health ministries served by the Department.
11. Apply comprehensive knowledge of HR law, benefits design, IRS Code Section 125, ACA regulations, COBRA, payroll regulations, and HRIS reporting to manage specialized tasks effectively.
12. Build and nurture collaborative relationships with health ministry staff, Payroll, Labor Relations, HR Business Partners, and vendors to streamline the management of escalated assignments.
13. Maintain sharp attention to detail while fostering a customer-centered approach, establishing rapport, and building trust.
14. Contribute positively to team dynamics, supporting an effective work environment by enhancing synergies across all processes.
15. Use the case management system for meticulous logging of issues and notes for cases in strict compliance with Legal Department requirements.
16. Uphold established regulations, ensuring compliance with all processes, procedures, plans, and systems.
17. Maintain confidentiality of department and associate information following HIPAA and NPPI guidelines.
18. Perform administrative functions such as completing and approving HR business transactions, generating reports, and conducting data audits. Participate as a representative on cross-functional teams while fulfilling regular duties and other relevant tasks.
19. Keep abreast of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, alongside Trinity Health’s Corporate Integrity Program and Code of Ethics, to ensure adherence to ethical standards.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
1. Possess an extensive background in Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, and Health & Welfare Benefits implementation, typically acquired through an Associate’s Degree and four to five years of progressive HR Specialist or support role experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred. Certification such as CEBS or PHR/PCP is advantageous.
2. Experience in vendor management is preferred, along with in-depth knowledge of benefit plan design, PTO, and Payroll processes.
3. Demonstrate advanced proficiency with HRIS systems, particularly with Workday and its impacts on benefits and pay transactions. Familiarity with systems like PeopleSoft and Kronos is a plus.
4. Strong decision-making, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills are essential.
5. Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficient in utilizing MS Office Suite, especially advanced skills in MS Excel.
7. Comfortable functioning in a collaborative, shared leadership setting.
