Job Description
Join us in revolutionizing how money empowers individuals.
We are moving away from the complexities of traditional banking and embracing simplicity.
With our vibrant hot coral cards and innovative get-paid-early feature, supported by financial education on social media and award-winning customer service, we’ve consistently delivered delightful experiences for our customers!
In the Growth team, your primary focus will be on one of our most critical metrics: user acquisition. You will collaborate in a small, agile, cross-functional product squad, working together to form and test hypotheses aimed at unlocking value for our customers. This role involves constant experimentation and data-driven decision-making.
Your input will significantly shape both what we build and how we create it.
We are seeking a growth-oriented Staff Backend Engineer who possesses a strong product background. Your priority will be the positive impact of your work on our users, prioritizing substantial contributions over mere code count; embracing progress over perfection.
As a Staff Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate closely with a Senior Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership across various squads, guiding a collective of 20 engineers.
- Team up with product, data, and operations leaders to identify and capitalize on opportunities that align with our organizational goals, bringing clarity and urgency where necessary.
- Balance high-level strategic planning and leadership with hands-on problem-solving and execution.
- Utilize your extensive knowledge to lead architectural discussions on complex systems, striving for robust and contextually optimal solutions.
- Uphold a high standard of technical excellence within the collective by showcasing quality work and addressing instances that fall short of expectations.
- Actively mentor and advocate for the professional development of other engineers.
Technologies you’ll engage with include:
- Go for application coding.
- AWS for production infrastructure and GCP for data infrastructure.
- Feast for feature storage alongside various tools for model training and deployment.
- Utilization of GPT and Vertex models to support Large Language Model applications.
You’ll have a proven history of guiding teams and stakeholders in prioritizing initiatives that drive key metrics, taking initiative in data-informed decision-making. You are adept at balancing the pace of execution with technical excellence, consistently delivering resilient systems for consumer-facing products. Your problem-solving abilities span the spectrum from client applications to backend infrastructure, and you’ve effectively led multiple teams in tackling complex optimization challenges. Comfort in navigating ambiguity alongside cross-functional teams is essential, as is your experience working with senior, non-technical stakeholders.
The application process consists of four essential steps:
- Initial Call
- System Design Interview
- Take-home task or pair coding exercise
- Final interview featuring both behavioral and leadership discussions
This process typically spans 3-4 weeks; we are committed to accommodating your schedule to the best of our ability!
