In this pivotal position, you will independently and collaboratively drive service and support objectives, ensuring seamless network functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first point of contact for Tier 1 network support requests, delivering exceptional service to our teammates and diverse customer base with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Efficiently address all break/fix requests related to network resources, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Innovate and design extensions and connections to our campus network, enhancing overall connectivity.
• Configure and deploy new or replacement network hardware and communications infrastructure, ensuring peak performance.
• Keep project and system architecture documentation current, enabling smoother operational processes.
• Maintain thorough inventory and maintenance records to support proactive network management.
• Continuously monitor network resources for faults and traffic anomalies, quickly resolving user connection issues to ensure optimal user experience.
• Create and maintain a comprehensive change history of network changes for accountability and traceability.
• Assist the ITS Field Maintenance team with the implementation and troubleshooting of communications systems.
• Contribute to team efforts aimed at strengthening cybersecurity measures and defenses.
• Engage in proactive threat hunting and mitigation strategies to preserve network integrity.
• Effectively manage your time and resources to meet departmental goals and objectives.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience with Cisco Routing and Switching (8 years)
• Proficiency in VLAN Management (5 years)
• Strong background in Network Design (5 years)
• Expertise in Access Control Lists (8 years)
• In-depth understanding of Subnetting (10 years)
• Strong familiarity with Routing Protocols such as BGP and OSPF (8 years)
• Experience with Authentication mechanisms like Radius and TACACS (5 years)
• Solid knowledge of Network Monitoring techniques (5 years)
• Familiarity with VPN & Remote Access Technologies (5 years)

Desired Skills:

• Experience with FMC/Firepower (5 years)
• Knowledge of Wireless Technologies (3 years)
• Proficiency in DNS/DHCP (5 years)
• Understanding of STP, VTP, and Multicast (5 years)
• Knowledge of Network Security concepts (8 years) is a plus.
