An Overview of the Role:
Position: Business Development Manager
Location: UK Remote with Occasional Visits to Our Bournemouth Head Office
Compensation: Competitive Salary (This is a non-commission role)

Your Role in Shaping Success:

This position transcends conventional sales or BDM roles; you will not be directly selling travel services. Instead, you will utilize your extensive travel industry experience and exceptional coaching skills to mentor and uplift a roster of 60-80 independent Travel Consultants (TCs).

As a trusted advisor, you will empower them to evolve not just as agents, but also as confident small business owners equipped with the mindset, strategies, and expertise to succeed long-term.

What You’ll Contribute:

  • Coach and mentor TCs in managing their travel businesses, focusing on operations and growth strategies
  • Provide personalized one-on-one coaching and group sessions tailored to each consultant’s objectives and business stage
  • Assist TCs in enhancing sales performance, lead generation, marketing, and customer retention
  • Guide them in converting industry insights into commercial success and cultivating a dedicated customer base
  • Be their go-to resource for business advice, motivation, and problem-solving
  • Foster a strong sense of community, loyalty, and mutual support among your TC group
  • Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and deliver insightful, empathetic feedback
  • Conduct virtual workshops and contribute to the development of our coaching programs
  • Occasionally visit Bournemouth HQ and participate in international training retreats

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home with occasional visits to our Bournemouth head office and opportunities to join overseas training events. You will have the flexibility to organize your schedule while ensuring participation in daily morning meetings, individual coaching sessions, and regular team gatherings.

As our Travel Consultants may require assistance outside traditional office hours, you should be comfortable conducting webinars or coaching sessions during evenings or weekends as part of your regular duties.

Who You Are:

We seek an individual who has significant experience in the travel industry and a proven history of successfully coaching or mentoring business owners.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A robust background in the travel sector, ideally across various roles (e.g., sales, operations, agency management, or franchise support)
  • A successful track record in coaching or mentoring individuals toward achieving their goals
  • Demonstrated ability to guide, mentor, or train small business proprietors or franchisees
  • A commercial acumen with an understanding of business growth strategies
  • Comfortable using data, CRM systems, and digital tools to enhance performance
  • Strong knowledge of social media and marketing strategies for effective lead generation
  • Excellent communication skills, both in one-on-one and group environments
  • A proactive, people-centric approach to leadership

Desirable Extras:

  • An ILM Level 5 or similar coaching qualification
  • Experience in owning your own travel business or franchise
  • A background in digital marketing or brand development
