We are excited to announce an extraordinary opportunity for a strategic and innovative Head of Procurement to enhance, scale, and lead our global procurement efforts. This critical role will be instrumental in defining and advancing Monzo’s procurement strategy while optimizing our sourcing processes to align with our ambitious growth targets. This is a remarkable chance for an experienced procurement expert to spearhead an essential function within a vibrant, tech-focused banking environment with bold aspirations.
In this role, you will guide a high-performing team dedicated to delivering outstanding results for Monzo and its clients while uncovering substantial opportunities to drive value, efficiency, and sustainability. You will oversee a range of strategic projects, including our international expansion efforts, providing you with in-depth insights into Monzo’s operations at the executive level.
Your key responsibilities will include shaping the sourcing strategy, negotiating, and managing strategic supplier relationships. You will work closely with executive stakeholders to ensure that procurement strategies are deeply integrated with Monzo’s global business objectives, prioritizing impactful opportunities as we expand into the EU market.
- Establishing and directing the strategic vision for Monzo’s procurement function, enhancing it to support our ambitious growth and international expansion.
- Building and managing executive-level relationships with key business partners to align suppliers and procurement strategies with overarching business goals.
- Collaborating with senior leadership to achieve optimal commercial outcomes, effectively balancing cost, quality, service, and compliance.
- Utilizing data, insights, and analytical reporting to prioritize initiatives and showcase the value of the Procurement function.
- Serving as the senior authority on procurement strategies, commercial approaches, and relationship management, delivering thought leadership and strategic direction.
- Identifying opportunities to harness technology to advance Procurement and supplier management as we scale.
- Overseeing the identification, onboarding, and management of essential third-party partners.
- Establishing and fostering long-term, strategic collaborations with key suppliers, emphasizing mutual growth and innovation.
- Cooperating with executive teams across Legal, Compliance, Tech, Finance, Product, and Operations to drive growth initiatives and ensure procurement supports scalable, global business solutions.
We’d be thrilled to connect with you if you have:
- A wealth of experience leading procurement functions in fast-paced, growth-oriented tech environments, preferably in fintech or similar sectors.
- A proven track record of navigating complex procurement landscapes associated with global expansion, including an in-depth understanding of regulatory frameworks and international market dynamics.
- Significant expertise in strategic purchasing of technology and software licenses.
- Experience with advanced procurement and contract lifecycle management tools and systems to enhance process efficiency and strategic decision-making.
- A strong background in procure-to-pay processes and ERP systems, with an emphasis on optimization and strategic alignment.
- A comprehensive understanding of outsourcing regulations within the financial services or insurance sectors, particularly on an international level.
- Advanced knowledge in information security and cyber risk management.
