We’re turning away from the outdated and perplexing systems of traditional banking.

With our vibrant hot coral cards and innovative get-paid-early feature, along with our commitment to financial education on social media and exceptional customer service, we have a proud history of creating delightful experiences for our users!

Our focus isn’t on merely selling products; we are dedicated to solving real problems and transforming lives through Monzo.

    Discover the Data Science Team

We are on the lookout for a Senior Product Data Scientist who is passionate about shaping the future of banking. In this role, you’ll have the chance to enhance user engagement throughout 2023 and contribute to the creation of a bank that customers truly cherish.

At Monzo, we’re dedicated to building a banking experience that is fair, transparent, and enjoyable. We are scaling rapidly, boasting over four and a half million customers in the UK and welcoming more than 100,000 new users each month.

Empowering Monzo to Make Swift, Informed Decisions

We cultivate a robust culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization. We believe in the impact of powerful, real-time analytics and actively support the broader business with accessible data. Our centralized data environment simplifies analysis, enabling a considerable portion of everyday data decisions to be handled through self-serve analytics using Looker. This allows data scientists to concentrate on more significant business inquiries and analyses.

    Your Role and Responsibilities

You will work in dynamic, cross-functional squads where data scientists are integral members of a core data discipline, fully integrated into a product squad with engineers, designers, marketers, and product managers.

    • Utilizing your skills in quantitative analysis and data mining to delve beyond the raw numbers, revealing how users engage with our products and how these insights can shape our product strategy.
    • Supporting product teams in measuring key metrics; launching and conducting A/B experiments to continually enhance our offerings.
    • Collaborating with the finance team to establish a cohesive company-wide understanding of user lifetime value and the impact of various product features on user profitability.
    • Partnering with engineers to ensure that we are gathering the right data to derive meaningful business insights.

    Why You Should Apply

If the work we’re doing at Monzo excites you, we want to hear from you!

    • You are impact-driven and keen to create a positive influence on the company, product, users, and your colleagues.
    • You possess a commercial mindset, able to interpret numbers within a business context.
    • You can smoothly transition from being hands-on to taking a step back and thinking strategically.
    • Your self-starter mindset allows you to proactively identify and address opportunities and issues.
    • You are a team player and someone that colleagues can rely on.
    • You have a strong foundation in SQL and ideally Python.
    • You have experience running large-scale A/B experiments.

    The Interview Process

Our interview approach consists of three key stages:

    • Initial Call
    • Take-Home Task
    • Final Interview, which includes a case study and collaboration interview

Typically, our interview process spans around 2-3 weeks, but we prioritize accommodating your schedule.

What You Gain from Joining Us

We support relocation to the UK and can sponsor visa applications.

This role is available in our London office, but we also embrace flexible, distributed working within the UK (with periodic meetings in London).
